My grandmother used to cut my hair when I was a tiny little thing, and I absolutely hated it. So, to calm me she would tell me that I shouldn't cry, because I was doing a favour to the birds. My hair was cut outside you see, and my grandmother claimed that the birds would use my hair to make their nests soft for their young.

It's a memory I still remember vividly, whether it's because I hated losing even an inch, or because of the birds, I have no idea. I wanted to use it for my story, so I imagine that Bohlale would say the same thing to this young girl, who much like myself, hated haircuts.
