START OF THE IHS STORYLINE : Part 1 - Chap. 1
PART 1 - Chap. 2 - FIRST | PREVIOUS | NEXT

That was the middle of the summer, during the July month to be exact. Caelyne and Eryn had travel during some days to go in Normandy. In fact, some weeks before, Caelyne announced to her team the fact of she feel ready to start again competition in show jumping. Eryn, which alway stay true to herself, get it immediately into her head to find for her boss some new jumping talented horses. So, behind the back of her boss, she make some calls and get in touch all her contacts to find THE HORSES which Caelyne can appreciate. So, when Eryn received a call from one of her old friend, Arnaud, who'd made some training with her before becoming a horse trainer and seller, she immediately advice her beloved boss about all of her tricks. First of all, Caelyne appeared embarrassed and a little angry. However, Eryn should knew the fact of Caelyne don't really like the fact of someone else decided anything for her. But after long negociations, Eryn finally convinced her boss and friend to come with her. They finally take an appointment with Arnaud and take the road to discover two french saddlebreds mares. When they arrived, the weather was clear and sunny and at the moment when the girls and the IHS truck pass the entrance's gate of Arnaud's estate, the both girls was amazed by all the things which surrounded them.

"Woah... Look at these wonderful fields ! And this exterior arena ! Soooooo biiiiiiiig !" exclaimed Eryn.
"Yeah, that's so wonderful ! But... That's your first time coming, Ryn ?" asked Cae.
"Well, yes. I've meet Arnaud when I was younger, in Germany, and neither he nor I were professionals. So when I leave Normandy to come to your stables, Arnaud wasn't established as a horse trainer and seller." answered Eryn.
"I see. So, I'm happy to discover that with you ! The horses seems to be happy here !" smiled Caelyne, looking around her during the time that she parks their truck.
"Hell yeah !" whispered Eryn, impressed by all these luxuary things around them.

Caelyne finished to park the truck in the truck parking area and the girls get out the truck. Both of them were continuing their admiration of the places when a man, age of about 30 years, crossed the parking and approached them.

"Hey ! Eryn !" he shouted, shaking his hand to draw the blue girl attention.
Eryn finally seen him and a smile covered her face.
"Arnaud !" she answered, while moving towards him. "How are you after all this time ? You haven't change a bit, you're physically absolutely the same - maybe with some additionnal wrinkles !"
"And you, you just have more colors and tatoos, it seems ! But you're still look younger." He told her with a smile. "Well, I'm fine. As you can see, everything is going swimmingly !"
He arrived at their level and watch Caelyne.
"Hello, I'm Arnaud Vanderlaud. You're Caelyne, I guess ? Eryn's boss ?" he asked the IHS owner.
"I am ! Nice to meet you !" she says with a cordial smile.
"Nice to meet you too ! So, the two beauties are for you ?"
Two beauties ? To this words, Caelyne thought immediately of some horses. So, some mares, to be exact.
"Well, I'm here to see and try some horses, yes, but Eryn haven't have a word about them during all the travel. So, that's a surprise. I even't seen them in pictures !" Cae answered.
"Ok, so, let's go, we'll see the horses I've selected for you." Arnaud says, started to walk in the direction of a path.
"Wait." Caelyne said. "What do you mean about "selected" ? We haven't talk about anything relatives to my riding level or experience..."
"I know !" says Arnaud with a smile. "In fact, Eryn have told me anything about you, your story and your horse level. And I trust her, don't worry. She know what she talking about."
Caelyne looks at Eryn, surprised a lot. But she don't tell anything. She knew how her friend have experienced with horse riding and how she have watch her riding. So, she just thank Eryn for doing that with a smile and a nod.

Then, the girls follow the estate owners. They takes a path which lead them to cross a lot of paddocks, fields and then, they arrived in a big stable, in a U shape, full of horses. At the moment when they just put a feet in the central area, all the horses get out their heads from their box. In the right, they seen a beautiful and clean grooming area, and a big door marked as "Saddlery". The girls looks all around, and they found all horses beautiful. Caelyne asked immediately hersel which were the two previously specified beauties, because in her mind, all of the horses of the estate were.

"And here we are ! You can see here all of our horses that are for sale." Arnaud says, doing a sweeping hand movement to show the stable. "Usually, they are only in fields, but as I have several buyers visits today, me and my team bring them in yesterday."
"Wow, that's impressive !" exclaimed Eyn. "They are all sooooo wonderful !"
"Yes, they certainly are !" answered Arnaud with a proud smile. "But that's obviously not all ! They all are talented in their discipline too !"

While the both friends talk, Caelyne noticed two horses. The first one was a buckskin horse, with a stripe and a very clever look. The second one was a dark bay one, which was obviously full of energy.

"These ones are particularly pretties. Beautiful." Says the girl to herself, lost in her thoughts.

"Have you spot some horses ?" suddenly asked Arnaud to her. She starded with surprise and laught a little.
"Yes. These both horses have hypnotized me !" she answered, showing the two horses with a head movement.
"Wow, that's a surprising thing ! These two mares are the ones which I've choose for you !" he enjoyed.

Caelyne immediately stopped all her movements. Such an excellent surprise ! She turned to face to Arnaud with a big smile.

"So, when do we begin ?" She ask.
"Well, let's go !"

Then, the guys go towards the box of the buckskin horse.

"So, let's start with this girl" said Arnaud. "She's a French Saddlebred with an excellent pedigree. Her father is the famous Ideal de la Loge by Dollar du Murier and her mother is Alino Queen, a wonderful palomino danish warmblood mare, mother of the famous Good As Gold !"
"Wow, she have amazing origins !" tell Eryn, cheerful.
"Yes. She have." confirmed Caelyne.

These words says, they get out the mare of her box and gone to the grooming arena. Here, Caelyne pass some long minutes to just stroke the mare, let her sniff her, so, the girls get their known. After that, Arnaud gone to search the saddlery of the mare, and Caelyne prepared the mare. She just had to note that the mare was really clever and soft. Then, she lead the mare to the horse riding arena. Before to climb on the mare, Caelyne just turn around to speak to Eryn.

"Well, we'll do a little process to try the girls. I'll ride them first to do some dressage tricks, then you'll ride them to jump some jumpings and after that, I'll ride them again to jump some little jumpings. Okay ?"
"Right." answered Eryn.

Then, Caelyne climb on the mare and give her the first impetus. Almost immediately, the mare begin to walk. She was really reactive to the leg, and have a really good impulse. Cae done some dressage trick, try the gaits variations, the curved of the mare, and some others movements. At the end of her tries, Caelyne was just more than satisfied. Even if the mare wasn't good at jumping, she had really a future as a Dressage Horse. And the character of the mare just fit so well to ths IHS boss. Caelyne finally stopped the mare in the middle of the arena and let the reins to Eryn. Her employee and friend asked Caelyne and Arnaud to install some obstacles, and that's at this moment that the real show begin. The mare revealed herself like a real competitive jumper, passionnated by jumping and volunteer. Never any hesitation, never any doubt face of the obstacles. Satisfied, then. After Eryn forced the mare to face of all the unexpected things that she can present to the mare in the estate, she let the mare again to Caelyne. Caelyne ride the mare again, and lead her to the first jumpings. That was only when she face the jump and was ready to jump that the fear take her. Suddenly, the mare stopped and Caelyne lack to fall on the ground. She immediately get her position back. Hopefully for her, neither Eryn nor Arnaud seems worried about what happened. If they reacted, she certainly just dig her heels in and just stopped everything. She knew that she was actually feel uncomfortable about jumping, and if people overreacted around her, they'd just broke the little rest of self-confidence that she have. But they don't move. So, Caelyne just breath in a lot and lead the mare on the track to get a good gallop back. Once the gallop was good and regular, she lead again the mare in the direction of the jump, and just sit down. The mare certainly feel it, because her gallop immediately become smooth and more than regular. And the jump above the bars was just the same. Once this jump was done, Caelyne, more relaxed, do one jump after another whithout any problem. She finally stopped the mare, with a smile, just in the side of Eryn and Arnaud.

"Well, that was not so bad !"
"Yes, she's pretty good ! And she fit you perfectly." confirmed Eryn.
"So, I think that for this girl, the decision is made ?" asked Arnaud, who look more than satisfied.
"Yes, I take her. For sure." answered Caelyne.
"Her name is Absolut." said Arnaud.
"That totally fit her. She's absolute at all." said Caelyne with a smile.
"So, let's try the other one ?" offer Arnaud to the girls.

The guys go back to the grooming area, and during the moment when Caelyne and Eryn untack Absolut, Arnaud go to take the bay mare. He lead her to the girls and when the girls finished to care about Absolut, he just let her the lunge of the bay one.

"What is the name of this one ?" asked Eryn.
"Arcane Fire", answered Arnaud, "And believe me, she fit her name too. She's a French Saddlebred too, by Diamant de Semilly and her mother is by Heartbreaker. Excellent pedigree too."

Just after he said that, the mare suddenly rear, apparently effraid by something that no one see. Caelyne had a smile. She like a lot this kind of character. So, she prepared and saddled the mare, spent a lot of time to stroke the mare and reassure her. During all the time she take her, she whispered some soft words to the mare, and Arcane finally become quiet. Cae finished to prepare the mare and lead her to the riding arena. Immediately after they arriving in the jumping arena, the mare change totally. From terrify and unsure, she become determined and sure of herself. Caelyne climbed on the mare, and ask her to move. And the mare immediately move. She was reactive and really enjoyable to ride. Caelyne asked to the mare to do the same exercises than Absolut, and Arcane do them perfectly. Then, Caelyne let the mare to Eryn. At the moment when the mare seen that she going to jump, she suddenly become a warrior. Obstinate, passionnated and lively. The mare and Eryn does a fast serie of jumps. When Eryn stopped, she have a big smile in her face.

"She's excellent ! You'll like her, Cae." she exclaimed.
"Let's see !" agreed Cae, when she climb on the mare for the second time.

Definitively, the mare was more lively than Absolut. And more complicated to ride. But when Caelyne approached the jump, the determination of the mare show through her, and the girls passed the jump whithout any hesitation in the both side. That's only when Caelyne was on the top of the jump that she realized it size. Bigger than she had expected. But all passing good, and when the mare landing, Caelyne felt like before her accident again. Something like free. She done some others jumps and finally stopped the mare. She approach Arnaud with a smile, the same which Eryn have before.

"I love her. We are going to take the both girls."
"Excellent news ! I knew my choice was good for you !" enjoyed Arnaud.

The guys lead the mare to the grooming area and unsaddle her. After few minutes, all the guys meet in Arnaud's office to sign the buying contract of the both girls. After that, they decided to finished the tour of the stables. The both girls - or we can now say the fourth - will only go home the following morning. They finished the day to discuss with Arnaud and the staff and help them with the horses.

During all this time, Caelyne can't go out the girls' of her head. The arrival of these mares in her stables signed for her a welcome back in the jumping world.
