Description
Hey. To anyone who cares or has liked my art in the past, I'm sorry this is so different. I recently got into a drawing class and I am really loving working with pencils and shading. I think I'm doing really well! I am a lot better working with realism from a reference image than I was making cartoon stuff, and I'm a lot happier doing it. With that being said, I present to you some ducks on the Puget Sound.I live in Washington basically right on the Sound. It is beautiful for the most part, except for humans making it all gunky. I love going downtown to the boardwalk and hoping to see a seal poke its head out among the boats in the marina, or going to the Nisqually Nature Preserve and seeing all the fantastic birds. I've even seen a weasel out there!
I was scrolling through r/olympia on reddit and came across this post: link . Inspired, I wanted to draw it to practice my shading skills. However I don't just have drawing paper lying around so I decided, "Hey, why not try it digitally?" So I found someone who had made a pencil brush for FireAlpaca (my art program) (I'm sorry I don't remember who it was!) and went to work. There was a massive learning curve and I had to figure out how the brush worked and hwo it compares to pencil on paper, but the end result is well worth it.
I would absolutely love to sell this as a print, but I'm not 100% sure if that is copyright infringement and I don't feel like getting in trouble, so if anyone can give me a definite OK or tell me how to go about getting the OK, please let me know!
