Description Has anyone else seen an ostrich skeleton? Let me tell you it's a strange sight, but something worth looking into.

This was an assignment for one of my drawing classes. First for the background, a gesso textured surface. Then, for the drawing itself we were to use charcoal or cattle markers (large oil bars) to achieve the desired effect.

Obviously this is abstracted a bit from the actual form of the ostrich skeleton - it's a little hard to get realism with the medium I was working in.

We were also allowed to distort proportion a bit, thankfully. I took liberties with such in the neck/head in order to get all of what I wanted to draw on the 24"x36" paper.

It was an interesting experiment
