I'm still a Zutara fan.
A commission for ~tahnee503 . The request was for a Kataang moment a week after the end of the series. This request was made in...October? Anyways, I promise that I lost sleep over this or else all of you would think I was just a Zutarian sore-loser if I didn't do as good of a job.
I got to thinking...WTF would they do after defeating the all-powerful Fire Nation army and power-hungry Fire Lord????

Would you believe that song kept me going despite the fact that I am not and will never be a Kataang fan???
Nah, just kidding - I just barely started watching Shin Chan last month. THIS was the song that kept me going. No joke. I love watching Ranma AMVs no matter how corny the songs are... >_>
Anyways, in return, she made this for me. :3
About the Picture
I couldn't think of a Kataang moment. I mean, really, the end should be enough for you Kataangers, but...

Soooo, they're dancing in the ballroom of the Earth King's Palace. I had to reference the pillars from that episode because they looked kinda twisty-looking.

I am a Kataanger, and really appreciate this. It's so pretty and has such energy.
I particularly like it because something that bugs me in the Kataang community is the almost constant need to make them older or older-ish looking in order to get more erotic. While there's nothing wrong with that in principle (as long as it doesn't get pornographic) what I love about Kataang is the innocent, fun, young-love thing. You have that here.

I really like your coloring style, vibrant and distinct but never over-contrasted. I espcially like Katara's dress; water tribe colors lend themselves well to a party gown, don't they? You got very creative with her hair too, and I really like the results. This country girl dolls up nicely, doesn't she? And I'm not even going to try and guess how you put together that ocean-and-fish pattern on the skirt.
One thing I immediately noted here is that they both look their age. That's a funny thing to say, but I think that lots of art (fan art and official art) for these two kids tend to make them look older than they really are. Part of what makes their love so wonderful, to me, is that it's a true young, innocent love, and I see a lot of that in this picture. Here's hoping their life and relationship together post-series is as happy as this image makes it out to be. ^_^
All in all, not bad for a Zutaran.

Love Katara's dress! Not only is the design great, but the way its drawn -- the flow if you will -- is beautiful.
The fireworks are amazing; they're sparkly and bright and shiny to me, just what fireworks are supposed to be like.
Aang's eyes are stunning. The happiness they portray is perfect!
The shadows seem a bit off to me, though.

I really liked it A LOT. Even though the water mark is covering some of it. I went back and looked. Putting ship war stuff right on it ruined the whole thing for me. Not very good anymore. Still outstanding artwork by itself, though.
