The main subject of the painting is a young girl obsessed with being accepted and loved by everyone. Through observation and careful adjustments to her own way of interacting with people, she created an alternate personality. The frayed rope symbolizes the girl losing control over her own creation, essentially sacrificing her true self for the sake of fitting into society.

This is a painting I made for a small exhibition I'm a part of! The theme was distortions so I went for a darker theme and a bit more of a pastel vibe for the main figure. I also played around with chromatic aberration to further emphasize the theme.
