Description Prologue

It had been 150 years since the bombs fell; Philadelphia our closest major city lay in ruins. I had never personally seen this place. Most of us had given up the idea that anything survived there, colleges, libraries, factories, and technology was atomized with the city.  Who would have thought life 60 miles away would have been possible, let alone not in complete chaos. My father had told me when I was younger that it was far less stable when he and his father were young. Of course you would have an overabundance of people descending into anarchy after society was incinerated to dust. My great-grandfather saw the brilliant and blinding flash on the horizon, he was twenty-two at the time. According to his journal, which has been handed down in our family ever since, the nation of the United States had been in a very tense match of deterrence with other distant nations. He mentioned China, Iran, Russia, North Korea, as being the main antagonists of conflict. I have no actual idea as to where these places are but I do know they are beyond our seas.
He had recorded much in his journal and has become quite a portion of our child educational curriculum, along with other things. For instance this area was part of the state called Pennsylvania, part of Berks County, Ontelaunee Township, city of Leesport. He had worked in a furniture warehouse as a coordinator at the time. Shortly after the bombs fell he rallied local law enforcement and other locals to the warehouse, which was fortified into a small city covering thousands of acres. This city he named Container City or C2 as the younger ones like to call it. The outpost was originally the township police department, which is about a mile down the road. We use it as a forward post to warn us of raiders and slavers, as well as a place of trade for travelers. Our forefathers took the outpost back shortly after C2 was created. Mostly simple farmers to grow what food can be, occupy the large complex across the way.  The also is a small amount of animals, chickens, pigs, cows grazing out in the fields there. He created all this and gave order to the brief anarchy. As his great grandson, I am heir to his office, as that has also been handed down in our family.
The office of Mayor had been passed down to each eldest child; the people heralded my family for running C2 fairly and justly. There was never dissidence on each Mayor's term, as my father's was no exception.
