Because ever since the start of Sasuke VS Itachi fight, Zetsu's become one of those annoying sports commentators...A regular John Madden, ain't he?
EDIT: Sweet Jebus, front page again? And here I thought it'd be impossible because of the new popularity system.

White-half Zetsu: You know, I really can't decide. I think Sasuke's gonna cream Itachi by the looks of it, but then again, Itachi is one of us. Howz about we jump in the middle of the fight in the next chapter??

Not to detract from the idea (which I do like! 
Zetsu's commentating because, as adept as most of you are at reading manga, action is hard to depict without animation. If you notice, someone does this in almost every fight- it's usually the good guy (intermonologue), or characters fighting with them (usually through communication to create tactics). He is acting as an expander too, as someone mentioned earlier.
