Description Ernst Stuhlinger's 1957 ion-drive spacecraft from Disney's "Mars and Beyond" segment of Tomorrowland.
Ship was modeled in Blender 3D using blueprints from the Spaceship Handbook by Hagerty. Image of Mars is from NASA.

Nice really Nice picture. On the engine in the wrong direction... the direct of the shipΒ is not shown in the picture

HOWEVER.... the shadow on the disc is definitely in the wrong direction.!!!!

Look at the shadow on the lander and the light on Mars, you are 180 degrees out on the disc shadow. And the light from the sun would washout any light, if any from the Ion Drive.

that's a nitpick... Love the picture

Wonderful. As for the engines...not at all. the ship is just powering them down as the planetary gravity takes hold for orbit.

However, I must confess that the ship engines are aimed the wrong way for this stage of the mission. I did it this way because it is more dramatic.
