The Story Behind the Art: So back when Genesis had her Weekly Drawing Challenge feature over at ClubTeenTitansOC , I came across this pose on dA and on artistic impulse decided that I wanted to work with it for my submission. Well then the Round Robin Comic happened and with all my time and energy spent on that, this was moved to the back burner. Then the feature was moved to Firanna , but I thought hey, she could control fire, why don't I just put them together? After all, I hadn't really even started drawing Genesis at that point. But then life happened and I lost track of time and just got so far behind on the WDC it's not even funny. But I still really wanted to finish what I had started and both characters were fun to work with, so I'm happy to say this piece was finally completed.

Artist's Notes: It wasn't too hard to recreate the pose I wanted, but I did have some trouble conforming it to the styling of both characters at first. Genesis and Firanna have wonderful designs, and trying to note their distinguishing features and make them look unique from one another was my main goal in this undertaking. Overall I'm satisfied with the result, though Genesis' proportions were throwing me off quite a lot, and I'm probably still lacking a little in their exaggerations. And Firanna's hair is so fun to draw, just sayin'. As for the background, I've always found BomBright 's WDC backgrounds amazing in their simplicity, so I wanted to give something like that a shot and decided to use a vector design mixed with some typography. If nothing else, I can now say that I put some of my graphic design knowledge to use from that class I took... what, three years ago now? xD

Anyway, this was sort of a stress relieving piece for me - just something fun to draw, you know? - so I hope you don't mind all of the borrowed inspiration on this one. It did help to break my drawing block some, and I'll hopefully be back with some new art when a certain depressing situation I'm in has ended.
