Male funnel web spider (note the slender abdomen and enlarged palps aka those arm-like, fang-like looking things extending from the spider's face, those characteristics tell us it is male). Found this scary little fellow on the wall in our bathroom. I was cleaning out the cat box, glanced up and there was this huge spider staring at me. I ran, grabbed the camera, came back, got a few pictures, left to put the dog outside, came back again and the spider was gone. It is now somewhere in our house. The spider itself was massive (as funnel webs tend to be), about the size of a silver dollar coin, perhaps a bit bigger. Where it went in such a short period of time i don't know but it disappeared. Here's to hoping it doesn't find its way to the bed or the ceiling above the bed Scares the bejesus out of me to wake up and see spiders on the ceiling and there's no going back to sleep until the spider is taken outside.
