The Berserker
-----------------

"Drugs and cybernetics; the only things holding me together."

Norad; formally known as Benjamin Soireau, is a human male that met Roan while Roan was on his pilgrimage. Norad was a young merchant sailor at the time, and his ship was docked on Omega. While walking down a back alley he saw a group of Batarians mercilessly beating down Roan. Although school and galactic culture suggested he should look down on the quarian; Ben's good nature got the better of him and he saved Roan.

This brought Roan into debt of Ben due to Roan's customs of his homeship. Ben at first reluctantly accepted the debt but over time the two became good friends. Through many adventures and four years on the move, Roan had to say goodbye to Ben as Roan went to the Migrant Fleet. Unknown to Roan, this devastated Ben emotionally, and Ben realized that he was now alone.

Depressed and feeling lost Ben hired himself out to small mercenary firms as a freelancer. During one critical mission; the paycheck would pay for his first real meal in days; he was consumed by desperation. Taking the suggestion of another merc, he injected high-end Methamphetamines into his system to stay alert. This was the start of his drug addictions.

The geth attack on the citadel also convinced him that humanity was in danger and so he enlisted in Cerberus. Specifically volunteering for an experimental Shock Trooper program that would replace organs with synthetic versions and enhance his nervous system. The operations were successful but failed to produce the desired result. Given only eight years to live, Ben created the persona of Norad and has taken on suicide missions.

Fragile self-esteem and shot nerves thanks to drug addiction, Norad is a force of nature on the battlefield. Wielding a massive M-76 Revenant and older type frag grenades, Norad shrugs off most wounds and is able to lay down punishing fire.
