If your evenings were spent
Listening to music, alone.
They romanticise the idea of friendship,
Tell you that you’ll always have
Someone to catch you when you jump off that ten storey building.
You won’t.
Think of a group of friends,
Inseparable, always laughing,
Having fun, making memories.
You will never be a part of that.
You are a missed note that has gone unnoticed.
People probably think you don’t care -
You enjoy being alone
You love being different
Standing out from the crowd
No.
How does it feel to be the punch line in your own joke?
Loneliness is not calling on your best mate at 3am,
Or going to bed at 6pm knowing you won’t miss anything -
It’s picking yourself up time after time and knowing nobody will notice.
