The next day while Landon spent his morning training and then got ready for work the others had all gotten up and headed out to the field that generally the county fair was held at the end of August. As requested everyone made sure to wear their boots and most chose to wear jeans and t-shirts. Colby had been a little concerned about Blaire going because she had returned to the house wearing Tristan’s hat. And being told the kid was Alex’s son and that everyone but Landon was going he was willing to relent. To appease her dad when she came out dressed to go she wore a grey tank top under her crop tie front grey, white, and black plaid top matched with a pair of distress jeans with rather strategically placed rips on the front and back of the thighs paired with her black riding boots and Tristan’s black hat. The group arrived in a few car loads but all thirteen walked up together ready to work. Alex stepped out of a trailer and looked at the crew and only of course recognized Rose. “Morning Rose and friends. Nice to meet ya all. I’m Alex Whitland. Thanks for all coming out to help. Now my understanding is all but two of ya have powers. Which that’s well and good and if they can be used to make the job get done faster, without cutting corners I don’t mind ya using them. We are pretty much isolated out here as is. I’ll get ya set up into groups with assigned jobs. We’ve got a lot to set up. Could ya all do me a favor and at least tell me your names and what ya can do that ya think might help with the setup beyond normal lifting?”, Alex asked looking at the crew though his eyes did glance to a girl wearing a rather familiar hat but took it as coincidence since Tristan never let his hat out of his sight.
“Well you know who I am. And I don’t really think my powers will be overly beneficial in the setup so just put me wherever Alex.”, Rose said holding up her hand. “Um Cora Lee Bryant, metal bender.”, Cora Lee yawned. “Lily Bryant, telekinesis.”, Lily said raising her hand in greeting. “Tommy Maximoff, super speed sir.”, Tommy said with a smile. “Billy Maximoff, reality hexing I guess is what I’m classified as.”, Billy said with a nod. “Atif Alston, soothsayer and I make force fields probably not helpful to setup.”, Atif greeted. “Ashley Alston, water bender.”, Ashley said smiling. “Xavier Yashida, one of the humans you were told about.”, Xavier said with a polite nod. Alex nodded knowing that name. “Aurelia and Logan’s grandson gotch ya.”, Alex acknowledged. “Gabriel Worthington and well mine is obvious sir.”, Gabriel answered his wings twitching slightly behind him. “Bianca Hamilton, healer.”, Bianca said. “Hope Summers, telepathy and telekinesis.”, Hope said with a wave. ”Rachel Howlett, human.”, Rachel said with a soft smile. “Blaire Delaney, human too..”, Blaire was the last to speak up. Alex raised an eyebrow looking at the girl. “Delaney?”, Alex questioned. “Yes. You might know my dad, apparently you two have someone in common. I’m Colby Delaney’s daughter.”, Blaire explained. Alex nodded with a smile. “Ah alright. That’s why I knew that last name. Well we’ve got six events that we need to set up for. Which if we add Tristan to your crew that makes fourteen of ya. So guessing I’ll pair ya out.”, Alex said looking at them trying to decide how to separate the groups. Tristan walked out of the trailer carrying a saddle with a rope over his shoulder having started to unload some things. He smiled seeing the group and smiled brighter seeing Blaire wearing his hat. “Hey all.”, Tristan greeted setting the saddle down. Alex looked over to Tristan and noticed he was missing his hat and sighed putting two and two together in that regard.
“Alright so setting up for the bull riding I’ll send Tristan, since it’s his event, and um…”, Alex said trying to think who to send with Tristan. “Blaire could help me dad.”, Tristan suggested. Alex looked over a little concerned by that idea. “Um…alright how about you two take Hope with ya she could be real useful.”, Alex said not wanting to leave Tristan alone with a girl he let wear his hat. Hope shrugged and walked over to stand by Blaire. “You do realize I got paired with you two to keep an eye on you right?”, Hope whispered having caught Alex’s thoughts. Blaire smirked and shrugged. “Uh huh and you’ll be great chaperone…”, Blaire whispered back. “So alright Rose, Cora Lee and Rachel you three can help setting up for the bronco riding.”, Alex said. Rose smiled and hugged Cora Lee. “Woo I get Cora Lee and Rachel.”, Rose said. Rachel moved to stand with Cora Lee and Rose. Alex chuckled looking to the others noticing most were holding hands. “Um alright well Lily and Tommy you two got steer roping. Atif and Billy you can help setting up pole bending. Ashley and Xavier you’ll help with cutting. That leaves Gabriel and Bianca with the barrel racing. Here is the general map for where things will be you’ll find the equipment already near where ya need to work along with some basic instructions for setting up. I’ll be round along with some of my crew to check on ya as we will be getting the pens set up and unloading the horses and bulls.”, Alex explained handing a map to each group. “Thanks.”, they said taking their maps. And with that they each headed off to their areas to start setting up.
The groups were found their locations and started working. And despite any concerns Alex had about letting Tristan alone with Blaire nothing really went wrong. They both focused on setting up for the bull riding even with Hope. Hope half listening to Tristan talking about the event. Blaire however was paying attention to the details he was giving. She had kept in mind his dad said this was his event. “So they aren’t just judging you but the bull too?”, Blaire asked as she was helping Tristan move a piece of fence into place while Hope was working on another section. Tristan nodded. “You got it beautiful. I get scored from zero to fifty and so does the bull. They are looking for constant control and rhythm in the rider in matching his movements with the bull. Points are usually deducted if a rider is constantly off balance. For points actually to be awarded the rider must stay mounted for a minimum of 8 seconds, and he is scored only for actions during those 8 seconds. The ability to control the bull well allows riders to gain extra style points. These are often gained by spurring the animal. A rider is disqualified for touching the bull, the rope, or himself with his free arm.”, Tristan explained. “Are you actually interested or just humoring me?”, Tristan questioned raising an eyebrow to her as they went for another piece of fence to build out the shoots. “I’m actively listening. I’ve never ridden a bull or been to a rodeo. But I’m a part of an equestrian team and have been riding horses since I was seven.”, Blaire answered. Tristan smiled. “You are a rather interesting woman. Most times I talk about riding or any of this I get the blank stare. They are listening but only for the sake of hoping I’ll shut up so we can make out. Granted I never mind that part, just rather they not fain interest and just straight out say ‘hey shut up and kiss me’.” Tristan said with a laugh. Blaire shrugged. “I wouldn’t say no to kissing, but we have a task to accomplish so work before play. And I learned something. I didn’t realize that they had a point system that you got graded on. I thought it was all just how long you stayed on.”, Blaire said with a wink.
Hope looked over to them and shook her head as she continued using her telekinesis to get everything in place rather quickly. “You two realize I hear thoughts and I feel dirty standing ten feet near you both.”, Hope teased. Tristan laughed lifting up another section of fence. “I’ll try and dial back my thoughts for you.”, Tristan said. “Mind grabbing the other end gorgeous, if you can lift?”, Tristan asked. Blaire smiled and waved to Hope. “Love you too Hope sweetie. You should have learned long ago to stay out of my head.”, Blaire said before looking to Tristan. “If? Oh honey I may not have powers but I’m strong enough thank you.”, Blaire said grabbing the other end of the heavy piece and helped him carry it to the shoot finishing that part. Alex came by and looked around with a couple other work hands. “You three are doing good. It’s lunch time why don’t you go get some water and something to eat.”, Alex suggested. Hope set down a final piece of fence completing the oval right. “Alright.”, Hope said heading back to get some grub. “Sure dad. Come on Blaire.”, Tristan said putting an arm around Blaire’s shoulders leading her away from the bull riding ring. They started to follow Hope but Tristan veered them in a different direction. Blaire raised an eyebrow. “And where might we be going because Hope went that way, handsome.”, Blaire questioned pointing the direction Hope went. Tristan smiled. “I know.”, He said leading her behind as stack of hay bales.
“But there’s something I’ve been thinking bout since yesterday.”, Tristan explained gently pinning her to the hay bales. Blaire giggled and looked up at him tilting his hat back to see him better. “Oh really and what might that be?”, Blaire questioned putting her arms around his neck smirking. Tristan grinned and leaned down kissing her. Blaire mmed a little into the kiss as she kissed back tightening her arms around his neck. After a little bit Tristan pulled back from the kiss. “That would be what I’ve been thinking bout.”, Tristan said. “Mhmm. I see.”, Blaire said pulling him back closer and kissing him again. Tristan chuckled. “So what category do I fit into?” Tristan jokingly asked. Blaire giggled. “Mmm. Let’s try that one more time so I can properly place you.”, Blaire said bringing her lips back to his. This time she rang her tongue along his lips which he smiled a little into the kiss before opening his mouth letting his tongue greet hers. Blaire moaned a little into the kiss rather enjoying being pressed against the stack of hay kissing him. After a couple more moments Tristan pulled back and rubbing his lips together. “So you make up your mind?”, Tristan asked. Blaire licked her lips smiling. “Mmm. I’m going to say you are one of those boys for kissing, now get back here.”, Blaire answered wanting to get back to kissing. Tristan smirk. “I think I’m going to like being in Bayville for the week.”, Tristan said with a laugh before going back to kissing her. His arms tightening around her picking her up still holding her against the hay as they kissed. Blaire giggled a little into the kiss as he picked her up and she wrapped her legs around him. “Ahem.”, a voice coughed. Tristan pulled back from the kiss and saw his dad. “Um hey dad.”, Tristan greeted with a smile. Blaire didn’t bother even looking embarrassed. “Hi Mister Whitland.”, Blaire greeted. Alex sighed. “To the lunch tent and after lunch you stay with Hope and out of trouble.”, Alex said pointing the direction of where the lunch tent was setup. “That means put the girl down.”, Alex said. Tristan sighed and Blaire unhooked her legs so he could set her down. “Yes sir.”, They said before heading to lunch. “Lord give me strength.”, Alex said watching them walk away.
As they reached the area designated for lunch the others were sitting on the ground eating some sandwiches and drinking water. Hope looked over her shoulder seeing the two walk up, with Tristan’s arm around Blaire’s waist and shook her head. “I won’t even ask where you to disappeared to.”, Hope said taking a sip of her water. The others looked over and shook their head because they all knew Blaire too well. Rose rolled her eyes knowing Tristan about as well as she did Blaire. “You two are trouble you know that?”, Rose questioned teasing. Blaire shrugged and grabbed a couple sandwiches from the cooler and Tristan grabbed some water before they sat down to eat. “Trouble is fun though, Rose.”, Tristan said taking a sandwich from Blaire and handing her a water in exchange. “I’ll have to agree. Trouble is definitely fun.”, Blaire said with a smirk leaning into Tristan a little while they ate lunch. “Guess should be thankful that while we worked they were actually working and save their shenanigans for break.”, Hope commented. “See Rose, I can work and be all responsible even when the person helping me is damn fine.”, Tristan said with a chuckle. Rose just shook her head. “Look at that someone learned self control since I last saw him.”, Rose teased. Tristan winked. “Another year old another year wiser they say.”, Tristan grinned as he ate his sandwich knowing they’d already used most of the lunch break by the hay bales. He glanced down to his watch as he finished scarffing down his sandwich. “Back to work I suppose.”, Tristan said getting up and offering a hand to Blaire. Blaire took his hand and got up throwing away her trash and keeping the water. “See ya all after work then.”, Tristan said as he walked with Blaire and Hope back to their area and the others left for their work zones.
“So Blaire, what might you be doing after we finish up here?”, Tristan asked as they returned to work. “Taking a shower, why want to join me?”, Blaire teased as they started getting the judging area set up. Tristan grinned. “Now that sounds real fun. Doubting your parents would approve of that though.”, Tristan said. “My parents? Well my daddy would probably shoot you with his Heckler and Koch 45 or his Remington 870 Shotgun.”, Blaire answered with smile. Tristan blinked. “He carries a HK45 and a Remington? What exactly does your pop do?”, Tristan asked wondering if he was just a gun enthusiast or something. “Oh daddy is former Navy SEAL and it a Captain of the local police department.”, Blaire explained simply as if it was no big deal. Tristan nodded. “So I’ll wager he’s a good shot then.”, Tristan commented. “Yup. On the force it’s between him, my Uncle Azriel and Misses Boland who’s the best shot since they never miss their target. But I’m just as good of a shot as them.”, Blaire stated. “Oh you shoot, too? What do you use?”, Tristan asked. “I’m a cop’s daughter of course I know how to shoot. I’ve been able to disassemble and reassemble a weapon since I was ten. I have a Smith and Wesson model 41, it’s in dad’s name right now but when I’m old enough to get a gun license it’ll be put into my name.”, Blaire answered. Tristan looked a little impressed. “So you ride horses, shoot guns, aren’t afraid to get dirty working, and are drop dead gorgeous. Any other impressive qualities?”, Tristan asked as he hammered a piece of the stage together. Blaire laughed. “Um I don’t know. I’m a fair swimmer since I live on the beach. I’m almost a decent fight since my dad taught me all the moves he learned in the SEALs. I’m intelligent enough, but I’m not like Rose, Cora Lee or Rachel and skipped grades. Probably could have but didn’t want to. So I just take all AP classes. I’ve been tied with Misses Boland’s son for top of our class since forever. I can’t play an instrument or sing but I can dance.”, Blaire answered with a shrug working on her half of the stage.
“Nice. So add in can kick ass, brilliant, a swimmer and dancer to the long list of impressive things. Now back to my train of thought your awesomeness distracted me from..”, Tristan said. Blaire laughed. “I’m not that awesome but thanks. So what was your train of thought cowboy?”, Blaire asked looking across the platform they were assembling. “Wanted to know if, after your shower, you’d want to get a bite to eat and catch a movie?”, Tristan asked. Blarie blinked and smiled. “Sure. Sounds fun.”, Blaire answered. “If her dad would actually let her on a date alone.”, Hope interrupted leaning on a piece of fence she’d just put in place. Blaire frowned. “There is that. Why do you gotta kill joy Hope?”, Blaire asked with a sigh. “Because I’m gonna do you a favor.”, Hope explained. Tristan and Blaire looked at her with raised eyebrows. “And that would be?”, Tristan inquired. “Blaire tells her dad a bunch of us are going to the mall to see a movie. Me, Bianca and Gabriel pick her up in Gabriel’s dad’s car so it’s on the up and up. We meet you at the mall and as long as we get her back to the house before her curfew golden:, Hope explained. Blaire smiled. “Hope I knew I loved you for a reason. You are a devious as I am. I’m going to say you got that from your mom because the day straight laced Scott does something underhanded I shall die of a heart attack.”, Blaire said. “Your friends are devious, I like it. So guess it’s a date then. I’ll meet you four at the mall say 7?”, Tristan asked. “Sound good. You think Bianca and Gabriel will be on board?”, Blaire asked looking to Hope. Hope smiled and tapped her temple. “They are in. Trust me. Now back to work you’ll have plenty of time after to chit chat and whatever.”, Hope instructed heading back to her tasks. Tristan and Blaire exchanged a smirk but went back to their work still talking a little about the rodeo as they worked.
It’d been a long day of basically all. The crew at the rodeo had worked hard getting more done in one day that generally Alex’s crew accomplished in three thanks for their powers. Landon had a long day as well between training and working at the flower shower just to know he had to drag himself back to the institute to eat, shower and hit the danger room with Logan again. But he knew it was going to be worth it all in the end. If this training could make him stronger, get him to where he could actually win against Wanda then all of it would be worth the time spent. He sighed a little slumping onto his bed briefly as he got into his dorm from the shop with a half eaten sub he’d been munching on during his walk from the van to his room. He quickly finished the sandwich and glanced at the clock thinking about the fact he needed a shower before he changed into uniform for training. “Wonder how their first day working setting up the rodeo went.”, he wondered to himself getting up from his bed starting to remove his shoes. He heard the buzzing of his phone realizing he’d had it on silent for work and snatched it up and looked at the caller id. “Rachel?”, he said setting her picture on the screen. So he answered. “Hey Rach? What’s going on?”, he answered. “Hey Landon wanted to just see how things went at the shop? Some of us are going up to the mall and we wanted to know if you wanted to meet up with us. They wanted to discuss party stuff.”, Rachel answered. “I can’t I’ve got training with your Uncle remember.”, He said his voice muffled as he pulled over his shirt. “What? I didn’t quite hear that you were muffled. You alright?”, Rachel asked. “Ah yeah. Sorry Was taking my shirt off. You called as I was about to hit the shower. I can’t meet up I’ve got training with Logan shortly.”, Landon explained. Rachel blinked glad he couldn’t see her blush as her mind thought about what he would look like without a shirt on. “Oh yes, I forgot your obsessive training with Uncle James. Why are you training with him so much?”, Rachel asked trying to keep focused. Landon sighed. “You know why. I better go. Tell the gang hi. Bye Rachel.”, Landon said. Rachel sighed knowing why then, the vision. “Alright. Bye Landon…”, Rachel said before they ended the call.
While Landon was busy down in the danger room with Logan working on his weapons training everyone else was changing out of their work clothes and heading out to the mall to hang out. Blaire had told her dad exactly what Hope said, that a bunch of them were going to the mall to catch a movie and she’d be back by curfew. And the fact that it was indeed one of Worthington’s cars that pulled up with Hope, Gabriel and Bianca Colby didn’t really think anything of it. Blaire grabbed her denim jacket pulling it on over her strapless navy dress to appease her father with a little wave. “I’ll be home by midnight. Bye dad, bye mom!”, Blaire said cheerfully adjusting the cowboy hat she’d still had from Tristan as she walked out the door and got into the car. “Well at least she went somewhat modest.”, Hope commented looking at Blaire in the jut above the knee length dress and wedge heels. Blaire grinned. “I had to get past dad didn’t I?”, Blaire teased as the driver took them up to the mall. Gabriel rolled his eyes. “You are seriously going to get yourself in trouble some day.”, Gabriel warned. Blaire shook her head. “No I’m not. Any boy stupid enough to try something I’m not up for will find themselves in pain on the ground. So no need to worry Gab.”, Blaire said. Gabriel shrugged. “You have a point. You just seem a bit, into this Tristan.”, Bianca stated. Blaire shrugged. “He’s cute and interesting. More than I can say for most townies I know.”, Blaire commented as they reached the mall. Tristan was standing by the entrance leaning against the wall waiting. Blaire smirked seeing him with arms folded over his chest waiting. Of course he had boots on, and the dark jeans looked good but so did the unbuttoned green paid with a black tee underneath.
“Hey there handsome.”, Blaire greeted walking over taking his hat off and leaning up setting it on his head. Tristan grinned. “Hey back at ya gorgeous.”, Tristan said adjusting his hat before leaning in and giving her a kiss. The others sighed and just kind of looked away. Tristan grinned pulling back and looked to her friends. “Howdy guys. So you three hanging out with us till…what time do I have you till Blaire?”, Tristan asked. “I have to be home by midnight.”, Blaire answered. “No we aren’t. The three of us are meeting the others, we’ve still got party plans to discuss.”, Gabriel explained. “Party plans?”, Tristan asked. “Yeah actually the last day you are supposed to be in town. We are having a big joint birthday bash. Landon turns 17 on the 5th, I’ll be 14 on the 9th, Lily will be 17th on the 10th, and Rose will be 15 on the 15th. So we decided to just do a joint party at the club since Landon’s dad, Lily’s brother and Bianca’s dads all own it.”, Gabriel explained. “Awesome way to celebrate.”, Tristan said slipping an arm around Blaire’s waist to walk inside. “Hey if you are still in town you should join us.”, Gabriel offered. Tristan blinked and smiled. “Sure, I’ll talk to my dad since you said it’s last day we’re in town.”, Tristan said walking inside with Blaire. “Alright, well this is where we divide. The rest of the gang is meeting us this direction.”, Gabriel said with an arm around Bianca. “See you later guys.”, Blaire said with a wave as she and Tristan went the opposite direction.
Blaire led the way to the movie theater in the mall and looked up at the list of movies and showings. “So what should we go see?”, Blaire asked. Tristan looked at the titles. “Well what about this one, The Fault in Our Stars? I heard decent things.”, Tristan said offering a more ‘chick flick’ option. Blaire furrowed her brow shaking her head. “That’s a rather chick flick movie. Let’s not. How about Skyfall?”, Blaire suggested pointing to the 007 poster. Tristan looked skeptically at her and laughed a little. “Wait so I suggest the romance girl movie and you counter with the action spy film?”, Tristan asked. Blaire giggled. “I enjoy romance movies every now and then. But 007 is my man, doesn’t matter who’s playing him. I like all the guns and the tech that Q makes, it reminds me of the Forge of the X-Men. And Daniel Craig is pretty hot.”, Blaire explained. “I shouldn’t be surprised. Alright so Skyfall it is.”, Tristan said walking up and getting two tickets for the showing that was about to start. They grabbed a large soda and a medium popcorn to share before heading into the theater finding seats off to the side in the back. Blaire took off her jacket before sitting down and laid it over her lap and smiled as Tristan took of his hat resting it on his knee as he sat next to her. As the movie started Tristan’s right hand reached over to Blaire’s lap and found her hand, just to innocently hold as they enjoyed the film.
Back at the food court the others were all eating and talking. “Alright so to end the great ‘Merrick debate’. I asked him if he wanted to be part of the party. He said no. So issue solved and Landon can’t push the issue because Merrick made his own decision.”, Lily stated. “And Landon’s not here to argue so ha.”, Rose stated with a small snort. Gabriel sat down with Bianca and Hope having gotten their food. “So where are Tristan and Blaire?”, Ashley asked the trio. “At the movies.”, Gabriel answered. “You let our cousin attend a movie alone with a boy? So she’s going to spend the next like two hours in a dark place with him. This could be so bad.”, Ashley said shaking her head. “Tristan won’t do anything. At least anything that Blaire won’t allow.”, Rose stated. Atif raised his eyebrow. “So that still means anything she’d allow is fair game. Which I don’t know if what she’ll allow and what Uncle Colby would allow are the same.”, Atif said. The group all laughed a little. “Blaire knows her limits of what she’s willing to do. We all just should trust that. If Tristan tries even for a second something she’s not okay with we’ll know it by the screams of pain.”, Hope said. “Exactly we should all have a tad more faith in Blaire. She wouldn’t do anything drastic, especially with a boy she just met.”, Gabriel said. There was kind of a collective shrugging as the group went back to discussing their party plans.
As the movie ended neither Tristan nor Blaire had talked during the movie and had just held hands leaning into each other as they enjoyed the film. “You realize that all my friends probably would not have believed that we sat through the whole movie without fooling around.”, Blaire said standing up putting her jack back on. Tristan grinned. “I hadn’t seen this movie before and you are a Bond fan so figured we should watch the movie and save the other fun for after.”, Tristan said with a wink taking her hand as they headed out. “We still have a couple hours till you have to be home. So I’m not been in Bayville before. I have an idea of an activity but not sure where we could do that.”, Tristan said as they left the cinemas to the empty mall. “Depends what activity did you have in mind cowboy.”, Blaire asked with a smirk. “Because there are limits to what I’m willing to do, even with a cute boy like you.”, Blaire added. Tristan nodded laughing a little. “Don’t worry gorgeous I’m not suggesting anything that would get my ass kicked. I respect people’s limits and never expect more than someone’s willing to do.”, Tristan explained. “I just wondered where a good place to look at stars was. It’s a clear night and star watching is something I do and thought maybe you’d enjoy with me.”, Tristan explained. “Ah I see. Well best place for that is the bluff, though I wouldn’t suggest we go there since it’s more commonly known as make out point though making out is the most innocent thing couples do there. But there is a place a bit off away from the bluff that still gets a great view of the sky and the ocean I’ve camped with dad before.”, Blaire explained. Tristan chuckled. “Oh right shouldn’t go to make out point. But that other place sounds good for star watching. Can I get my truck there?”, Tristan asked. “Oh yeah the way off from the road to make out point is wide enough for a truck.”, Blaire said. “Well let’s go then gorgeous.”, Tristan said walking her to his dad’s old truck opening the passenger door for her. Blaire was sending a text to Hope as they walked to the truck. ‘Going for a drive with Tristan I’ll meet up in time to get home without dad freaking.’. She smiled and got into the truck and gave him the directions on how to find the camping spot that was near the bluff.
Tristan pulled into the large opening turning the truck around so that the truck bed was near the cliff. “Alright let’s get out then.”, Tristan said reaching into the back pulling out a couple blankets before getting out. Blaire shrugged and got out of the truck and walked around to the cliff edge and looked out over the ocean. “It’s a good night for looking at stars, not a cloud in sight.”, Blaire commented turning to look over her shoulder hearing the squeak of the truck. Tristan had put down the tailgate and was climbing in spreading out the blanket. “Yes it is. Come on up goddess.”, he said offering a hand. Blaire raised an eyebrow but took his hand anyways and climbed up into the truck. “So stargazing from the bed of the truck?”, Blaire asked. Tristan nodded setting his hat aside and rolled up the second blanket as a pillow before stretching out and patting the space next to him. Blaire smirked and laid down adjusting her dress as she did before resting her head on his shoulder. “So what do you know about stars beautiful?”, Tristan asked adjusting his arm to be under her to hold her. “My dad was a SEAL so I know how to use them for navigation.”, Blaire explained getting comfortable next to him. “Good stuff. With all our traveling my dad taught me that too and since the stars are one constant no matter where I go I kind of enjoy looking up at them. My personal favorites are Ursa minor and major.”, Tristan said pointing up and tracing out the shapes of ursa minor and ursa major above them. “Hmm. Good eye. I like that tonight we can see Hercules over there.”, Blaire said pointing and tracing out the stars that formed Hercules.
Tristan smiled and rolled a little to his side and looked at her. “Seriously how are you this amazing?”, Tristan asked. Blaire giggled shaking her head. “Come by it naturally I guess. My parents are amazing so made sense I got to be amazing too. And well growing up as a human in a mutant community gotta find ways to make myself special.”, Blaire explained. Tristan continued to smile at her and lightly ran his hand over her cheek and down her neck and across her shoulder. “Well you certainly accomplished that, because I think you are rather special.”, Tristan said before kissing her. Blaire smiled into the kiss wrapping her arms around his neck returning the kiss. If this was going to be stargazing with him Blaire would be okay with stargazing more often. She was rather enjoying laying there kissing him, she wasn’t even phased as his hand started lightly touching her bare legs. But as his hand got a little higher she pulled back from the kiss and lightly shook her head no. And Tristan’s hand stopped and moved back down closer to her knee. “Sorry.”, Tristan said softly. “It’s alright you don’t know till I say something.”, Blaire said. “Well how about we talk a little bit then? I’m here all week so we got lots of time for kissing.”, Tristan suggested. Blaire nodded. “Alright. So you know things about me. But beyond knowing you’re from Oregon, ride bulls, travel with your dad, are a flirt, and a great kisser I don’t know much about you. Tell me some more about you then.”, Blaire requested. Tristan smiled.
“Alright well, I grew up on a ranch in Oregon. My dad took over the ranch from Rose’s grandparents long before I was born. My mom’s not really in the picture. She just didn’t have that mom gene and it’s cool cause I have dad and he’s awesome. He taught me to rope and ride with the best of them. And how many kids can say that their parents was super supportive when they were told their son was bisexual.”, Tristan answered. “I suppose that’s true. My Aunt Sadria and Uncle Azriel were cool about Atif admitting he liked men. But it took Hope’s dad a bit of time to accept that she was into chicks.”, Blaire said. “It doesn’t bother you that I like guys? I mean generally girls that know that about me get a little weird. Like they can change my mind to get me to just be straight or they get grossed out and don’t want anything to do with me.”, Tristan asked. “No I don’t care. And I dunno I was raised in the mindset that you don’t try to change people. As long as you don’t start flirting with and checking out the boys I flirt with we are good. Cause if you do competition is totally on. And I don’t like to lose.”, Blaire said with a smirk. Tristan laughed. “Don’t worry gorgeous, I’ve got enough eye candy and someone to focus my flirting on with you around. So only competition will be me and those boys who try to flirt with you.”, Tristan assured. Blaire smiled but heard a beeping on her phone and sighed. “Well I’ve got about ten minutes before we need to go meet with my friends so I can get home.”, Blaire said with a sigh. “Well what should we do for the final ten minutes?”, Tristan asked. Blaire smiled and rolled him to his back and straddled him leaning close to his face with a smile. “I’ve got an idea.”, Blaire said before kissing him. Tristan blinked a little at being pinned down but wasn’t going to complain about her straddling him in that dress. “I like this idea.”, Tristan said words muffled between kissing moving his arms around her his hands running up and down her back enjoying the remaining minutes they had before he’d have to return her.
Hope, Gabriel and Bianca were waiting at the mall parking lot when Tristan and Blaire pulled in. Blaire leaned over and kissed him one more time. “Tonight was fun. I’ll see you at the field in the morning to finish setting up.”, Blaire said before hoping out of the truck and heading over to her friends. Tristan leaned out the window. “See you guys tomorrow. Had a real fun time Blaire.”, Tristan said with a wink and a wave before driving away. “Sooo exactly how much ‘fun’ did you two have?”, Hope asked. Blaire grinned. “A lady never kisses and tells.”, Blaire said getting into the car. “And since when are you a lady about that?”, Bianca asked with a laugh. “We watched Skyfall, no hanky panky during the movie at all just held hands. Then we went to my camping sight near the bluff and stargazed, talked, and made out in the truck bed. Dear god he’s such a good kisser….”, Blaire said grinning. Gabriel sighed shaking his head. “You are keeping in mind that he leaves on the 8th?”, Gabriel asked. “Of course. I know that. He’s just fun to be around. So I’ll enjoy while I can. I’m not looking to have him as a boyfriend, distance wouldn’t work. But I dunno. Something about him just gives me the butterflies in the best way possible.”, Blaire said. Bianca raised an eyebrow. “You really might like him then?”, Bianca asked. “Yeah I guess. I mean he’s the first guy I’ve met that is actually like me. I’ve never known someone who’s a flirty as me. I mean god if he actually lived in town I would actually want a boyfriend.”, Blaire admitted. “Awww how cute.”, Bianca said. “But he doesn’t so…”, Hope pointed out with a shrug. “I know. But I can tell you this if we still at least keep in touch and there’s a chance to see him again after this, and when I’m actually mentally prepared I am going to sleep with him.”, Blaire stated. They others blinked and looked at her. “Are you serious?”, Gabriel asked. “Of course I’m serious. I’m not saying I’m going to sleep with him before the week is over. I said if we still keep in touch and see each other down the road when I’m actually mentally ready for sex. That could be years from now.”, Blaire explained. And the group said nothing further on the subject.
