It wasn’t long before the sound of heels could be heard coming up the stairs. Sarael rushed through the door, running straight through Logan, and flung her arms around Aurelia. “I am so happy to see you.”, Sarael greeted. “I’m happy to see you too.”, Aurelia answered. Sarael pulled back from the hug and started to look Aurelia over before saying “You look different, but I can’t place what it is. So now that I’m here mind enlightening John and I as to why you took off, why you didn’t call, where you’ve been, and finally why you have finally returned?”, Sarael questioned sitting down on one of the sofas. John sat down next to her taking Sarael’s hand in his and both looking to Aurelia for answers. Aurelia visibly gulped before taking a seat.

Aurelia let out a sigh before explaining herself. “First I am sorry that I left without telling you guys where I was going and even more sorry that I didn’t call while I’ve been gone. It’s been a lot for me to deal with. And before Logan…”, Aurelia’s voice trailed off as she shrugged. “Well before Logan if something was going wrong in my life I just left. It’s that fight or flight scenario. I couldn’t fight since everyone agreed it would cause more trouble for all if I just ripped Wanda’s throat out with my teeth. So I chose flight.”, Aurelia continued. “It was stupid, irresponsible, and childish of me. I didn’t even think about what my leaving would do to you guys and to Amiko and even more so to Hudson. I feel awful for basically abandoning all of you. Logan going missing cut me very deep and its’ a wound I will never heal from. I just focused on my own pain and forgot how much him being gone hurt all of you.”, Aurelia added on the verge of tears.

John, the gentlemen that he was, reached into his jacket and pulled out a handkerchief. “Here, please don’t cry Aurelia.”, he said offering her the handkerchief. Aurelia nodded taking it and drying the tears that were welling in her eyes. “Thank you John.”, she said placing the handkerchief on her lap just in case she needed it again. “I understand the need to get away. I know the pain you felt. I lost a fiancée long before I met John.”, Sarael said reaching over placing a hand on Aurelia’s knee trying to reassure her. Aurelia nodded. “I didn’t call because the idea of calling you all just made my heart hurt more. I didn’t want to feel that pain. I ended up back in Oregon. I stayed with my high school friend Alex who’s taken over my parents’ old ranch.”, Aurelia continued with her explanations. Logan moved to sit next to her knowing that next she would need to tell them why she’d returned. He wondered if like Alex she would leave out Nick or if she’d tell them she’d had a one night stand and feared their baby was actually some stranger’s.

“At least you were somewhere safe. We worried that you had just been on the road constantly. I’m glad to know you were at least with a friend.”, John said. “Alright so now you just have to tell us why you’ve chosen to finally come home.”, Sarael said looking to Aurelia. “Well. It’s a combination of things. I couldn’t stay away forever. Running away doesn’t solve anything. And as much as I love my friend Alex, he isn’t you guys. He can give me support the best he can, but he doesn’t know the full details about what really happened so there will always be that secret I’m keeping from him. Here I don’t have to keep secrets from you guys. I won’t keep secrets from you either.”, Aurelia said now biting at her bottom lip. Logan sighed. “You’re going to tell them about tequila guy. Well at least you refuse to lie to my brother.”, Logan said with a sigh. John raised an eyebrow cocking his head to the side looking at her with concern. “What’s wrong? You can tell us anything. You are family and as such we will love you no matter what you tell us.”, John questioned trying to give her assurance.

Aurelia nodded. “I can’t lie to you nor keep this a secret given circumstances. While I was in Oregon I hit a new low for me. I went out drinking ended up drinking three bottles of tequila. And then..”, Aurelia said her voice trailing off. Logan frowned as he thought about how this couldn’t be easy for her. Maybe it she was just telling Sarael it wouldn’t be so bad, but she was face to face with his brother who other than being much taller and lacking the adamantium, which forces a more muscular frame, was his twin. “Well…um…god how do I tell you this? I got black out drunk and ended up sleeping with a guy I met at the bar.”, Aurelia said her voice going quiet at the end with embarrassment. Sarael moved from sitting next to John to sitting next to Aurelia and hugged her. “It’s alright Aurelia. People tend to do stupid things and usually things they regret when drinking. I’m glad you feel close enough to us to confess such a thing.”, Sarael said. John nodded in agreement. “But…Logan had always said if I was ever with another...”, Aurelia’s voice trailed off. John leaned forward resting a hand on her knee. “Aurelia, my brother is gone. I don’t think he would hold this against you or think of it as any reflection on your feelings for him and the relationship you share.”, John said be careful in his wording.

Aurelia sniffled and looked at John giving him a small smile. “Thank you. But it’s not just that which makes this hard on me. There’s one more reason why I came home. I found out recently, that well..”, Aurelia said now at a loss for words as she held up the ultrasound pictures. Sarael squealed taking the photos. “You’re pregnant!”, Sarael yelled. John looked at Sarael and just shook his head like saying she should calm down. “This is joyful news. However given the way you have lead up to this. I’m going to ask a question and I do not want you to find it as judgmental or anything. How far along are you?”, John questioned. “The doctor said they can’t tell because the heartbeat is up to par for being around 11 weeks but the measurements of the baby indicate more of 5 weeks.”, Aurelia explained. John nodded taking the pictures from Sarael to look. “They said its’ small for the heart rate?”, John questioned looking at the pictures. Aurelia nodded, “Yes. Now you see why I had to tell you about hat tequila fueled night. I didn’t want to present these pictures when I’m not even sure if it’s from before or after.” John continued to nod and handed the pictures back to Aurelia. “Say something please..”, Aurelia asked.

John took a deep breath before looking at Aurelia and smiled. “I’m going to be an Uncle again. And this time I get to be there from the start.”, John said. “So you. You don’t care that it might not be?”, Aurelia questioned. “That’s my brother’s child. I have no doubts in my mind. James, myself and all my naturally born nieces and nephews looked like preemies at birth despite being full term. So you telling me the heartbeat is more of an 11 week yet the size is more a 5 week tells me that baby is a Howlett. “, John explained. Aurelia grabbed the handkerchief once again to stop the tears. “I’m sorry that I keep crying.” Aurelia apologized. “You’re pregnant. You’re allowed to cry as much as you want. It goes with the whole hormones thing.”, Sarael said hugging her. “I get to be an Aunite to a new baby. I haven’t had a baby niece or nephew to spoil since Isis was a baby. This is so exciting.”, Sarael added a big smile on her face. “I’m so glad you both are taking this so well. I was so worried that you wouldn’t accept me or the baby as family.”, Aurelia said. John just shook his head. “Don’t be silly. I told you already you are our family and we love you no matter what. And we will love that baby no matter what. Now you just have to tell my nieces and nephews that not only are you back by expecting.”, John replied.

Aurelia nodded. “I’m not really looking forward to this part. Do I really have to call all of them? Can I just call Amiko and Hudson?”, Aurelia asked. “I can call Cero and Kirra if that would be easier.”, John offered. “I know that if this baby is Logan’s that Cero and Kirra should know about it as it would be their sibling. But well they weren’t all that accepting of me when I was dating Logan and even less when he proposed to me. They made it very clear at the memorial at the school they didn’t think I belonged there with you all.”, Aurelia explained. John nodded. “I understand. Cero and Kirra have not been the most welcoming. Sadly I can’t chance that. But I will call them for you. However I have one request.”, John replied. “What request?”, Aurelia asked. “Never say ‘if’ in regards to this baby being my brother’s. When you call Amiko and Hudson you are not to mention what happened in Oregon. I’m sure that like Sarael and I they won’t event think once about it, but Cero and Kirra are to never hear of that night. I do not wish to fuel their angst with you.”, John explained. Aurelia nodded. “I won’t. I wouldn’t feel right talking about that with Amiko and even less right talking to Hudson about that.”, Aurelia agreed.

“Very well then. I’ll call Cero and Kirra. Based on time of day I’ll call Kirra first and then call Cero later today when it won’t be so early in Alaska”, John said standing up and getting out his cell phone and dialing. Logan moved closer to possibly hear his youngest daughter’s voice. “Kirra.”, John greeted. “Uncle John. So nice to hear from you.”, Kirra greeted her tone happy. “Yes it’s nice to speak with you too.”, John answered. “How are you and Aunt Sarael doing?”, Kirra asked. “Oh Sarael and I are both doing alright. I’m calling because Aurelia has come home.”, John explained. “That’s not really a reason to call me then Uncle. I don’t care where Aurelia is.”, Kirra retorted. “That’s not really polite.”, John said his voice sounding a bit agitated. Logan took a deep breath and had to remind himself Kirra was her mother’s daughter is some moments and this was one. “I’m sorry if I’ve offend you Uncle. But what do I really care about my father’s former lover? They didn’t marry or have children so with him being dead she is no longer relevant.”, Kirra said her voice sounding ‘matter of factly’. “Well you should care because she’s pregnant. So guess what niece, you are going to have a new brother or sister. So I suggest you start carrying about Aurelia a little more.”, John explained. “My dad has been dead for two months and she’s showing up saying she’s pregnant and it’s his? Uncle she’s playing you. It’s not possible. I don’t know whose baby she’s carrying but it’s not my father’s. If this news was all you had you probably shouldn’t have called. I’ve got to go Uncle. Give my love to Aunt Sarael.”, Kirra said hanging up.

“I really really wish I could go to Romania and discipline my daughter…”, Logan growled. He knew Kirra wasn’t Aurelia’s biggest fan but to talk that way about their baby was not right. John cracked his neck and in his anger with his niece crushed his phone in his hand. Sarael and Aurelia both watched as he talked to Kirra not knowing exactly what Kirra had said but how John reacted told them it wasn’t good. “Everything alright John?”, Sarael asked. “Fantastic darling. My niece requires some education on etiquette and how to behave like a lady. Please remind me that if we are blessed with a child and it happens to be a girl that she be given proper etiquette lessons.”, John replied. Aurelia shook her head. “I told you Kirra didn’t like me.”, she said. “Well you should probably all Amiko and Hudson. They’ll be thrilled to hear from you and even more thrilled at the joyful news.”, Sarael suggested handing Aurelia the phone.

“Before I call her and Hudson, could we maybe eat? I’m really hungry.”, Aurelia asked. John and Sarael both laughed a little. “Sure. Let’s go get some brunch since there isn’t any food here.”, John agreed. “I should probably get back to the store. Though Demitri can easily handle it. Let me just call him to make sure he’s got everything under control.”, Sarael said pulling out her cell phone and dialing. “Demitri?”, she greeted. “So it turns out that my sister-in-law Aurelia is back from Oregon. We are about to take her out to brunch. Are you going to be alright alone a little longer?”, Sarael explained. “Thanks Demitri. I’ll come back over after we eat.”, Sarael said putting her phone in her pocket. “Alright Demitri said he’s got the store covered. Let’s go eat.”, Sarael said with a smile. As they headed outside Logan followed along with a smile on his face. “I certainly ended up with at least a great big brother. How many other people in this world would be so accepting and supportive of their sibling’s fiancée after their sibling was declared ‘dead’. I’m sure Amiko and Hudson will continue to be accepting of Aurelia and be thrilled about the new baby.”, Logan commented to himself.

They ended up taking John’s vehicle to a restaurant. As they walked inside Sarael took Aurelia by the arm. “John how about you grab us a table. Aurelia you should come with me to the restrooms.”, Sarael said dragging Aurelia to the ladies room. Logan followed, but stayed outside the restroom, some places he was just not willing to go even if he couldn’t be seen by anyone. “I don’t need to use the bathroom right now Sarael.”, Aurelia said confused. “I know. But I want to talk to you and not in front of John. Before any of us start getting our hopes up I want to ask you a serious question.”, Sarael explained. “Alright. What’s on your mind then?”, Aurelia asked. “I know that we’d talked about kids a long time ago. And you and told me you wanted them, but for Logan were willing to get up having them. So I just want to know with everything that’s happened will you be keeping the baby?”, Sarael asked getting straight to her point. “I plan to keep it.”, Aurelia said. “Alright I wanted to just make sure. Because weather this baby is Logan’s or not, it’s still your baby. So no matter what I’m here for you and for this baby.”, Sarael said.

Logan sighed having heard the conversation. He’d always thought Aurelia wanted children; just with the way she was around Hudson he could tell she was mother material. But he already had some any children and having more just didn’t fit his life. He knew that when she said yes to marrying him Aurelia was giving up becoming a mom. Which is why he was happy about the news of them having a baby. He wasn’t sure if he’d ever get out of this limbo, but at least the universe was giving some balance and letting Aurelia become a mother since she couldn’t become a wife. The two ladies walked out of the restroom and looked around for just a moment before spotting John and walking over to take their seats. “Everything alright”, John asked. “Yes everything’s fine.”, Sarael answered. The waitress took their orders and over all the meal seemed rather normal.

After finishing a mouth full of hashbrowns John took a sip of his tea then took at Aurelia. “So now that you are back what is your plan?”, John asked. Aurelia looked at him taking a moment to finish the copious amount of bacon she’d just shoved in her mouth. “What do you mean by my plan?”, Aurelia asked. “Well you’re back. So my questions are what do you plan on doing for a job? Are you going to try and get your old bartending job back at the club, because I’m not sure that’s a good environment to work while expecting. Are you looking to re-open The Wolverine Pub?”, John asked before taking another sip of his tea. “Umm, I hadn’t really thought about it. But you’re right I am going to need to work. For now I’ll reopen the pub. At least then I’m just the manager not mixing the drinks and such.”, Aurelia replied before taking a large forkful of strawberry covered waffles and devouring them. “Sounds like a good plan. What about with the baby? We’ll have to get one of the bedrooms ready as a nursery. And then there’s finding a doctor and thinking about names.” Sarael said changing the topic more to the unborn child.

Aurelia swallowed her food and smiled. “Um, you’re right. I kind of figured I’d talk to Mikali about being my doctor. With me being a mutant and the high possibility of the baby being a mutant, would rather have someone who won’t freak out about deal with a mutant.”, Aurelia said. “That’s a good plan. Mikali’s got a small place set up while the institute is still being rebuilt. He’s thinking about getting a larger location and officially opening his own practice next year after he finishes his doctorate for his PhD. I’m sure he’d be happy to be your attending physician.”, John said before taking a bite of his toast. “As for a nursery, I guess I can use Kirra’s old room. Not like she’s going to be using it any time soon.”, Aurelia commented as she went for another forkful of her breakfast. “Very true. And her room is a little closer to the master than Hudson’s anyways. So that works out well.”, Sarael said.

“I know it’s early and you only recently found out yourself, but have you considered any names?”, Sarael asked. “Um. Names? I never really thought about boy names. I always figured….”, Aurelia answered her voice trailing off. “I always figured the dad would help pick.”, Aurelia continued. “If it’s a boy as Uncle I could help you pick a boy name. “Thank you John. But for a girl..”, Aurelia said looking lost in thought. “I always promised my grandmother I’d name her Roselyn.”, Aurelia said frowning a little. “That’s a pretty name why do you sound so sad about it?”, Sarael commented. “She’d be called Rose Howlett.”, Aurelia said still frowning. Logan snorted a little. “Of course, this is going to be a girl. My final child will be a girl and her name will be that of the first girl I ever loved. The universe loves to give me daughters. Though if it’s a girl there’s some serendipity in her name. My first love was a Rose. And as my last child, my last love will be a Rose too.”, Logan said accepting the name for what it is. “I think James would like that name. It’s been over a century since Rose died. So if it’s a girl this family will have a new Rose.”, John said. Aurelia smiled and nodded before finishing her plate.

Sarael looked at her watch. “I should get back. Demitri is due to take his lunch soon.”, Sarael said standing up. She gave John a kiss goodbye and then hugged Aurelia. “I’m so happy you are finally home. Let me know if you need anything.”, Sarael said before waving goodbye and heading the three blocks to her flower shop. John paid the bill and left the tip. “I’ll take you back to the apartment, but then I need to get to my office.”, John said as they got back into his car. “Alright. I’ll call Amiko and Hudson and then I guess check in with other people like Colby so they know I’m back too.”, Aurelia nodded. John dropped her off out front. “If you don’t have time to hit the market today to restock, just give me a call and you are welcome to have dinner at the house with Sarael and I. Need to show you the new place anyways since we finally finished the house.”, John said. “Alright I’ll let you know.”, Aurelia said getting out and heading back up the stairs.

Logan watched as his brother drove away and sighed. He was glad to see that in this world John hadn’t lost his humanity or Sarael. Feeling the pull, he turned and followed Aurelia up the stairs before he found himself there randomly. Aurelia sighed as she walked over to the couch and picked up the phone. “This is going to be painful.”, Aurelia said before dialing. Logan sat down next her wanting to hear his children on the other end. “Hello?”, Amiko’s voice said slightly confused. “Hi Amiko, it’s Aurelia.”, Aurelia greeted. “AURELIA!!!!”, Amiko shouted. Logan could hear Xavier start to cry in the background. “Oh… oh I’m sorry Xavier. But it’s grandma calling.”, Amiko said soothing her son. Aurelia had to hold the phone away from her ear at how loud Amiko screamed her name, and then hearing the word ‘grandma’ made her smile. It was weird to think that Amiko was only a couple years older than her but was referring to her as ‘grandma’ to little Xavier. “Do you have any idea how worried I’ve been about you? After the memorial at the school you just kind of dropped off the planet.”, Amiko said her voice sounding concerned.

“Yes I know. Your Uncle told me you called him often asking about me. I’m so sorry that I just disappeared like that. I just needed some time away from everything. I ended up spending time at my parents’ old ranch in Oregon with my high school friend.”, Aurelia apologized. “Well I’m glad you were okay. So what has finally brought you home? It’s been a long time since this number has shown on my caller id. And you’ve missed so much. Xavier is walking and talking. His first word was ‘bub’, Father would be so proud.”, Amiko gushed. Aurelia laughed a little. Logan smiled. “That’s my grandson alright.”, he said. “That’s great. And I’m sure Logan will be thrilled to know that. As for why I’m home, that’s part of why I’m calling you. I’m just not sure how to say this.”, Aurelia said. “Just say it. Whatever it is I’m sure I can handle it.”, Amiko responded. “Well I’m pregnant, so it looks like there’s going to be a new Howlett in the world.”, Aurelia explained. Logan had to cover his ears and Aurelia had to pull the phone away as Amiko just started screaming with joy. “Amiko is everything ok?”, Huang’s voice could be heard in the background. “Oh I’m sorry for getting so loud. Aurelia’s on the phone and she just told me I’m going to be a big sister again.”, Amiko explained. “That’s wonderful. Tell her congratulations.” Huang said. “That’s wonderful news Aurelia. I’m so happy for you. Huang said congratulations. Did you hear that Xavier? You’re going to have a new Aunt or Uncle.”, Amiko said her voice still excited. “I’m glad you are taking this so well. Your Uncle John called Kirra and well…”, Aurelia said trailing off. “Kirra has a stick stuck up her ass, pardon my language. If she doesn’t want to be happy about this who cares. You just ignore her. Have you called Hudson yet?”, Amiko commented.

Aurelia laughed a little at the comment about Kirra having a stuck up her ass. “Fair enough, I’ll try to ignore her displeasure. And I haven’t called Hudson yet. I knew it was getting late for you there so I wanted to call before you all were in bed.”, Aurelia said. “Well thank you for finally checking in with me and giving me such great news. You should call Hudson. But please call and keep me up to date on the progress of my new sibling. I’ll have to make a trip to visit soon so you can see Xavier.”, Amiko suggested. “Don’t worry I’ll call more often now that I’m home. And I’d love to get to see you and the family. I’ll go give Hudson a call now. Bye Amiko.”, Aurelia said. “Bye. Wait Xavier, say goodbye to grandma.”, Amiko said. “G’ma.”, a small voice said. “Bye Xavier.”, Aurelia said tears in her eyes. Logan even felt a possible tear; he just got to hear his grandson speak for the first time. “We love you and we’ll see you soon.”, Amiko said. “I love you guys too. Bye.”, Aurelia said before hanging up. Aurelia quickly found the handkerchief John had given her to wipe away her tears. “Wow, I knew that call would be emotional but I didn’t expect this. Xavier called me g’ma.”, Aurelia said setting the handkerchief down onto her lap. “Might need to keep this close when I call Hudson.”, Aurelia commented before dialing again.

“Thank you for calling the office his Royal Highness Hudson Howlett. How may I direct your call”, a female voice answered, which sounded like she was talking through her nose. “Um. Hello. I’m calling to speak with Hudson. This is Aurelia.”, Aurelia said a confused look on her face. “One moment please.”, the voice said. It was obvious she was covering the receiver, poorly as even Logan could hear her. “Excuse me sir. But it’s a woman named Aurelia calling for his highness. Her name is on the black list you provided me.”, a whisper could faintly be heard. “Black list? Excuse me? Do you know who you are talking to?”Aurelia said getting annoyed very quickly. There was a rustling sound in the background and a new voice was on the phone. “Good evening. This is Michael Donovan, the royal advisor. I am aware of you who you are. However being the former fiancée of his highnesses late father doesn’t give cause for you to speak with him. High highness is very busy and currently in a meeting with your President.”, a bland male voice answered. “Excuse me? I’m not a former anything, my fiancée isn’t dead. Look I’m not in the mood to deal with your shit. Put Hudson on the phone now, or I come there and ripe your limbs off.”, Aurelia said her voice rising as she became angry. In the background a door opening could be heard a muffled goodbyes being said. “Who’s on the phone Michael?”, a voice asked. Logan and Aurelia both knew it was Hudson. “Oh no one of importance, your highness.”, Michael said. “NO ONE OF IMPORTANCE?! YOU TELL HIM WHO IS CALLING RIGHT NOW!”, Aurelia yelled.

Her yelling worked because Hudson must have heard her. “Is that my mom?”, Hudson asked his voice hovering on anger and joy. “Sire, your mother Viper died some years ago.”, Michael said trying to play if off. “TELL HIM IT’S AURELIA! GIVE HIM THE PHONE YOU JACKASS!”, Aurelia continued to yell hoping to catch Hudson’s ears again. The next sound heard over the phone was the rustling of the phone and then the sound of the receiver making contact with something. “MOM!? Is it really you?”, Hudson asked his voice eager for an answer. Aurelia smiled. “Yes, it’s me Hudson. What was that sound I heard?”, Aurelia asked. “Oh that. That was just me dealing with stupidity with force. I’m so sorry that they didn’t just give the phone to me. Where they rude to you before I got here?”, Hudson questioned. “Apparently they have a black list of names of who can’t call you and I’m on it.”, Aurelia explained. “A black list?”, Hudson said. “Give me a copy of this ‘black list’ now.”, Hudson demanded.

The sound of paper could be heard. “Let’s see who else you have determined as ‘unworthy’ to speak with me. My mom, my Uncle John, Aunt Sarael, my sisters Amiko and Kirra, my brother Cero, and anyone from the Xavier Institute? Are you kidding me?”, Hudson said his voice growing angrier. “This is a list of people I WANT to hear from! How dare you black list my family and my father’s friends of the institute.”, Hudson said as the sound of the paper being torn apart could be heard. “Sire, I was just trying to protect you..”, Michael pleaded in the background. “PROTECT ME? FROM MY FAMILY!? AFTER I AM DONE SPEAKING TO MY MOTHER I AM GOING TO DRAG YOUR ASS DOWN TO MY TRAINING ROOM AND BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF YOU! NEVER EVER KEEP MY FAMILY FROM ME! NEXT TIME IT WILL COST YOU!”, Hudson growled. “I’m so sorry you had to hear that mom. I apologize for the use of my language.”, Hudson said his voice going back to the calm collective tone.

Logan started laughing and so did Aurelia. “Hudson, have I ever told you how much you are like your dad and Uncle?”, Aurelia asked still laughing. “No I don’t think you have. Why are you laughing mom?”, Hudson asked. “When you went off of your advisor there, it just reminded me so much of your dad, but how quickly your voice changed to the polite young man you are reminded me of your Uncle John.”, Aurelia explained. “Oh. I guess you’re right. Howlett to the core I suppose.”, Hudson replied a smile in his voice. “I’m so happy to hear from you. I’ve called Uncle John every day since the memorial after you left. Where did you go? I’ve missed you so much mom.”, Hudson asked. “I know, John told me that you and Amiko had called often. I’m so sorry that I went away like that. I just needed some time alone.”, Aurelia said. Logan could see her holding back tears. “I get it mom, I really do. But I needed you too.”, Hudson said his voice sounding pained. Logan frowned as the thought about the sadness that was probably on Hudson’s face. “I know. I’m sorry. It was selfish and childish of me. I shouldn’t have done that to you.”, Aurelia said her voice cracking a little as she kept trying to hold back tears. “Well you’re back now. You aren’t go away again are you?”, Hudson questioned. Aurelia shook her head. “No I’m not going anywhere. I’ve got far too many people who need me.”, Aurelia answered. “Good. So then you are forgiven. So now that I’m here mind enlightening John and I as to why you took off, why you didn’t call, where you’ve been, and finally why you have finally returned?”, Sarael questioned sitting down on one of the sofas. John sat down next to her taking Sarael’s hand in his and both looking to Aurelia for answers. Aurelia visibly gulped before taking a seat.

Aurelia let out a sigh before explaining herself. “First I am sorry that I left without telling you guys where I was going and even more sorry that I didn’t call while I’ve been gone. Let’s go get some brunch since there isn’t any food here.”, John agreed. “I should probably get back to the store. Though Demitri can easily handle it. They ended up taking John’s vehicle to a restaurant. As they walked inside Sarael took Aurelia by the arm. “John how about you grab us a table. Because weather this baby is Logan’s or not, it’s still your baby. So no matter what I’m here for you and for this baby.”, Sarael said.

Logan sighed having heard the conversation. He’d always thought Aurelia wanted children; just with the way she was around Hudson he could tell she was mother material. But he already had some any children and having more just didn’t fit his life. He knew that when she said yes to marrying him Aurelia was giving up becoming a mom. Which is why he was happy about the news of them having a baby. He wasn’t sure if he’d ever get out of this limbo, but at least the universe was giving some balance and letting Aurelia become a mother since she couldn’t become a wife. The two ladies walked out of the restroom and looked around for just a moment before spotting John and walking over to take their seats. “Everything alright”, John asked. “Yes everything’s fine.”, Sarael answered. The waitress took their orders and over all the meal seemed rather normal.

After finishing a mouth full of hashbrowns John took a sip of his tea then took at Aurelia. “So now that you are back what is your plan?”, John asked. Aurelia looked at him taking a moment to finish the copious amount of bacon she’d just shoved in her mouth. “What do you mean by my plan?”, Aurelia asked. “Well you’re back. So my questions are what do you plan on doing for a job? Are you going to try and get your old bartending job back at the club, because I’m not sure that’s a good environment to work while expecting. Are you looking to re-open The Wolverine Pub?”, John asked before taking another sip of his tea. “Umm, I hadn’t really thought about it. But you’re right I am going to need to work. For now I’ll reopen the pub. At least then I’m just the manager not mixing the drinks and such.”, Aurelia replied before taking a large forkful of strawberry covered waffles and devouring them. “Sounds like a good plan. What about with the baby? We’ll have to get one of the bedrooms ready as a nursery. And then there’s finding a doctor and thinking about names.” Sarael said changing the topic more to the unborn child.

Aurelia swallowed her food and smiled. “Um, you’re right. I kind of figured I’d talk to Mikali about being my doctor. With me being a mutant and the high possibility of the baby being a mutant, would rather have someone who won’t freak out about deal with a mutant.”, Aurelia said. “That’s a good plan. Mikali’s got a small place set up while the institute is still being rebuilt. He’s thinking about getting a larger location and officially opening his own practice next year after he finishes his doctorate for his PhD. I’m sure he’d be happy to be your attending physician.”, John said before taking a bite of his toast. “As for a nursery, I guess I can use Kirra’s old room. Not like she’s going to be using it any time soon.”, Aurelia commented as she went for another forkful of her breakfast. “Very true. And her room is a little closer to the master than Hudson’s anyways. So that works out well.”, Sarael said.

“I know it’s early and you only recently found out yourself, but have you considered any names?”, Sarael asked. “Um. Names? I never really thought about boy names. I always figured….”, Aurelia answered her voice trailing off. “I always figured the dad would help pick.”, Aurelia continued. “If it’s a boy as Uncle I could help you pick a boy name. “Thank you John. But for a girl..”, Aurelia said looking lost in thought. “I always promised my grandmother I’d name her Roselyn.”, Aurelia said frowning a little. “That’s a pretty name why do you sound so sad about it?”, Sarael commented. “She’d be called Rose Howlett.”, Aurelia said still frowning. Logan snorted a little. “Of course, this is going to be a girl. My final child will be a girl and her name will be that of the first girl I ever loved. The universe loves to give me daughters. Though if it’s a girl there’s some serendipity in her name. My first love was a Rose. And as my last child, my last love will be a Rose too.”, Logan said accepting the name for what it is. “I think James would like that name. It’s been over a century since Rose died. So if it’s a girl this family will have a new Rose.”, John said. Aurelia smiled and nodded before finishing her plate.

Sarael looked at her watch. “I should get back. Demitri is due to take his lunch soon.”, Sarael said standing up. She gave John a kiss goodbye and then hugged Aurelia. “I’m so happy you are finally home. Let me know if you need anything.”, Sarael said before waving goodbye and heading the three blocks to her flower shop. John paid the bill and left the tip. “I’ll take you back to the apartment, but then I need to get to my office.”, John said as they got back into his car. “Alright. I’ll call Amiko and Hudson and then I guess check in with other people like Colby so they know I’m back too.”, Aurelia nodded. John dropped her off out front. “If you don’t have time to hit the market today to restock, just give me a call and you are welcome to have dinner at the house with Sarael and I. Logan watched as his brother drove away and sighed. He was glad to see that in this world John hadn’t lost his humanity or Sarael. Feeling the pull, he turned and followed Aurelia up the stairs before he found himself there randomly. Aurelia sighed as she walked over to the couch and picked up the phone. “This is going to be painful.”, Aurelia said before dialing. Aurelia had to hold the phone away from her ear at how loud Amiko screamed her name, and then hearing the word ‘grandma’ made her smile. It was weird to think that Amiko was only a couple years older than her but was referring to her as ‘grandma’ to little Xavier. “Do you have any idea how worried I’ve been about you? After the memorial at the school you just kind of dropped off the planet.”, Amiko said her voice sounding concerned.

“Yes I know. Your Uncle told me you called him often asking about me. I’m so sorry that I just disappeared like that. I just needed some time away from everything. That was just me dealing with stupidity with force. I’m so sorry that they didn’t just give the phone to me.
