I've had this idea in my head for a while since it's the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario franchise.Plus, I've been watching the first httyd movie one too many times.

This is the story part of the Starwings; part two will discuss their traits and behavior.

Starwings are a subspecies related to Night Furies. Although they are rare creatures, they used to be very abundant back in the day. Not only have Starwings been spotted in the Mushroom Kingdom, but they have also been spotted in other kingdoms, as well. Long ago, Starwings were hunted for their magnificent scales, and had nearly gone into extinction. Had it not been for a protection law against exterminating these creatures, Starwings would have ended up never being seen again. Today, Starwings are respected for their elegance and rarity.
