Amazing....concept and skillful. The metal details look on the edge...of a sharp sword. This image is facinaiting, and skillfully acheived.
I don't think the mermaid would look as nice with more fat...yet, her slender form seems to balance some of her less attractive aspects.

I was wondering whether you used some kind of reference for this work.
I noticed a game I play has Sirens that look a lot like your mermaid.

So I maybe they were influenced by this work, or you used a mutual reference.
They seem to be a bit too excentric for this to happen by chance.
