Wow just in time, today's the day James Cameron's new movie AVATAR screens in cinema's! I've been waiting along time for this, SO KEEN
I really enjoyed making this one, it's pretty different to my usual stuff. I'm a bit of a fan of the Sci-fi/Adventure movies or games! This movie struck me when I saw the trailer, reminded me of Abe's Odyssey for some reason.
The background took me the longest in this, I'm not used to creating jungles, I did have to search for a few references to look at and just put my own style to it.. I love the style of the environments in the movie
Anyways enjoy, and go see this movie!

- Done in Photoshop CS3
- Used a Wacom Graphics Tablet

wonderful use of colors! I really like this pic and can't wait till more fan art is put up for Avatar. Just saw the movie last night/this morning and it was THE BEST MOVIE for this year. It cost me a bit but I'm already planning to see it again. Picture goes really well with the movie! Love it! Only thing I'd change has been addressed earlier and that would be the end of the braid.. but meh that's just being too picky lol

This is just amazing. Looks great and it is cool, you made your own perspektive/ style and painted from scratch.
My try was adapted from a photo of Neytiri. I am not good in drawing characters.

This is perfect, because you captured Jake's face so well, I've wanted to see some fanart of him with a face that looks like his. I don't find it impressive if all the faces look the same in fanart, not that it's easy to get specific features from another race. xD

I saw it in 3D recently and I was just amazed at it. James Cameron truly out did himself on this movie and set such a high standard for coming of age movies. It was so compelling and had such a rich story line, and the 3D effects gave it such a great level of depth that contributed to the CG animation.
Great job btw, that really encapsulates the fierce warrior within the Na'vi people and their great speed and fighting skill.
