I just watched PREDATORS!!! What an awesome movie! I love how they chose to go back to the basics and make it similar to the original.
So I couldn't help myself
I had to do a piece on it! It might take me this week or maybe the next to actually have it done, but I am so excited about this one!!! It's great to actually draw something different to the usual person or character!Now I know most of you will say he's missing his kick ass blades! Haha but I thought I'd be a little different, plus I gave him a cool little dagger I thought up
Since in the new movie, they have a lot of different Predators, I thought I'd make my own! Might call him Herb Let me know what you think so far!

I really like this pic too because it is a paper drawing. Very interesting seeing how you sketch it out before it meets the Wacom.

Got a weird fisheye lens thing going with some extreme foreshortening. Kinda cool pose though. I think the bulkiness is just right too. Preds are ripped not huge. I was actually thinking of doing another AvP pic as well since the first was so fun to draw. And yeah Predators kicked ass. I'm gonna watch me some AvP:R now since it's actually not that bad of a film. Yeah I said it.

I just saw this movie today in the theater, it was really the best predator movie I have seen in a while. I remember loving the first one in fact, ima pop it in my ps3 as I write this.

That right arm is really strange, way too large compared to his upper body, his balance would be really weird. The lower torso is too thin to support those arms lol. I mean the left arm seems fine, maybe bent to sharply upwards being the harsh angle his twisted it couldn't be raised that high or even be too visible. Generally your characters are quite lean and drawing thick bulky creatures is a bit different, however I'd imagine that a predator wouldn't be extremely bulky as he constantly scowers terrain and leaps so he would have larger shoulders and thicker legs and leaner calves and forearms.
I really like the head and chest and the direction of the hair shows great movement, perhaps if the right arm was drawn closer to his chest and raised higher like he was going to backhand someone would justify the sharp twist.
Ok I'll stop I'm reading way to into it lol, awesome lines Patrick I'm interested to see how you will colour his skin and what environment hes in.

Decent crit, I figured you would post something like that in the critique section as opposed to just comments, and however you look at it the predators are bulky and huge in all the movies, this drawing really captures the essence of a predator, a giant menace that is bent on killing everything in it's path for sport. I mean the original predator made arnold look like a skinny 9 year old boy. No dude this is definitely predator and definitely awesome.

Yeah I understand that predators are big and bulky, I would of posted a crit but you need to have a paid account I think? I was just saying that if your going for something different try to think of how it would really appear if it was to be a killing machine. I mean Adrian Brody ran rings around the elder lol.

Cool, man. I enjoyed the movie as well. The predator is one of my favorite made for movie characters ever, next to Darth Vader. Stan Winston is the man, the originator the predator. Can't wait to see your finished work.

Best Scene, the awesome boshido sword fight between the yakuza guy, and the preditor. You can only ever hope to die such an awesome death as that Japanese dude.
