Description
This is probably my personal favorite out of my Doctor Who pieces. I finally got to work Bessie into a pic (the hill-hopping style I drew it in owes a big debt to Alex Toth). And you can barely glimpse Harry Sullivan at the wheel too, which makes me smile. If you look very closely at the K-1's foot, you can see what's left of that unfortunate UNIT soldier that got in his way.Related content

I bet this is your favorite, oh my gosh!! Is simply amazing!! The details, the colouring! I don't know why, because the robot is simply astonishing, but what I love more is the Doctor's scarf movement

Thanks! Probably why this is one of my personal faves is that I think I managed to get a sort of cartoonish sense of movement going in this one. It's usually not easy to do, but it just kinda came together on this one.

LOL - hadn't noticed the soldier in the 'TARGET' version! I just love the crisp linework & the details in the foreground & background. It simply oozes quality!

This is absolutly briliant musthave I gotta have.
Ah, nostalgia. "Robot" was my very first Doctor Who story ever.

Thanks! I have the same kind of nostalgic feelings toward "The Brain of Morbius" (my first story).

Unfortunately I did not watch that episode, but from what I herd, you might call it " The Quintessential Doctor Who Story", plus I herd that the monster is brilliant combo of funny/scary.

This is so nice. The colors really make it stand out. I wish I could have this as a print. It would look wonderful framed on a wall

Thanks! I wish I COULD sell prints of it, but I'm sure the BBC would have something to say about that. Unless of course, they wanna buy it off me (if only!).

I like it. Very old-timey zany, which I guess the episode should be seen as.

It's really nice, but did you had to go overboard with the dead UNIT solider underfoot bit?

Personally, I think it's great that the unfortunate bloke is immortalised in this way.

Ah, good old Bessie! Y'know, i've always wondered why the Doctor didn't outfit Bessie with wire-spoked wheels instead of wooden spokes while he was still working with U.N.I.T. on a regular basis, because one would think that, what with all the driving that the Doctor did in Bessie during his brief turn as Scientific Advisor, he would have outfitted her with wheels that were easier to repair and replace, and didn't make such a horrid clattering noise at high speeds. Oh, well...
Oh, and nice job on the deviation here, by the way. Really well done, indeed!

WOW that's so good!! Your drawing literally looks alive--the action, the suspense, the perspective--it's really really really really cool.

Thank you! Like I said in the description, it's one of my faves. Odd, because I conceived the idea in minutes and had the rough sketch done in one night(though the nuts and bolts of tightening the pencils, inking it, and coloring it stretched it out to ten days). There are other pics I tinker with for months and don't like half as much.
