Description Here's the final fur for Sparkster. Decided to use the Ambient color in Max's Material Editor instead of the Diffuse Map, which was making it look splotchy and was too light (you can see it in the scraps). Looks pretty good, especially for my first time. Now it's onto skinning and he's done! Then I have some animating to do...

'Skinning' is just attaching the model to a skeleton for animation purposes. His lack of skinning is why he hasn't done any pose other than the classic 'T pose' - well, actually more of a 'V pose'; the way I model, I have my characters hang their arms downwards instead of sticking them out (sticking them out would make the character make a T shape). I have to skin him for rendering and animation purposes - he's pretty much done right now.

And yea, his fur is finalized. I don't know how to make the fur around his muzzle a different color without doing a different shell and texture just for that area. Maybe in the future I'll figure out a good way to do it, but this is my first time and I don't think it's necessary to futz with it too much.

Ooh, he's so cool looking!
Is that his final look? You said there's "skinning" left to do but I don't know exactly what you mean, you're going to add more layers onto him? How will he look after you're done with skinning?

Also will he still have the brighter yellow lower mouth fur area to go? Or is this what you've settled on? (I mean, it does look light already, and that's awesome, but I don't know if there's more to go with that.)
