Description
                                       A New Danger

The night had grown darker than normal thanks to the storm that had threated all day, and the rain was coming down hard. The blond watched from her opened window, she was from the sun dry deserts of Egypt and loved the rain, but this was no nature storm it was the second of its nature in the past few months, one born of her fight with the dark witch Mesta, fight between Light and darkness. She sighed it was nearly midnight and she couldn't sleep, something else was in the air, another magic she'd never felt before. She played with her staff, the red gem on its head flashed in the light of the lightning that danced in the sky, like fighting dragons. Her fate magic had also warned her that something very bad was about to happen but it wouldn't tell her what and that scared her, she couldn't foresee what this storm was bring.
Sometime later, she final decided to crawl into bed and was out within moments, but her dreams where filled with shadows that destroyed everything in their path and came at her. She fought and escaped them only to find that their sources was her friend/ well boyfriend Yugi, the man she was support to be guarding. She opened her eyes, believing she was still dreaming to find him staring down at her, he was shocked and a small drop of water dropped from his jacket onto her. "Yugi?" she questioned confused, HIS EYES they weren't the light amethyst they normal were, they were RED! And he was smirking. She fought to sit up/ wake up because this dream/nightmare was scaring her. But she found her arms locked in shadow magic. Her eyes widen in fright as he leaned closer, "What's wrong Pheonix?" He asked, his voice holding a note she'd never heard before.

     "Yugi, what's going on?" she asked praying this was one of her VERY vivid visions and it would end very soon.

    Yugi just grinned, "You'll find out very soon my guardian." He chuckled as he ran his left hand over her throat and shoulder where his nails bite into her skin and she bite her lip to hold back a yelp of pain. He leaned down to whisper that the shadows would be free in three days' time and she would be his after that everything went dark, but before she pasted out completely she felt another drop of water on her face.

    Pheonix sat up with a start when the first rays of light fell across her eyes and she scanned the room quickly finding she was alone and she sighed in relief. "Bloody Hell, that was way too real last night." She said moving so she was sitting on the edge of her bed, as her racing heart began to calm down as she held her head still shaking.

      She sighed she needed to get up and ready for school, so with a groan she got herself up and to the bathroom for a shower, after as she was dressing she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror and paled as she touched her left shoulder and the claw marks down it. Her breathing picked up till she shook her head to clear it. "No, nothing to worry about, I've had visions and dreams before that I've woken up marked from…………….. This is no different." She said but she didn't quite believe it. She looked over at the clock and squeaked she was going to be late to meet Yugi at his house.

         She was too late to meet Yugi at his house and so she didn't have time to ask his about last night, she high tailed it to school, she was still his guardian and that meant she was to protect him. Even though she'd made her unforgiveable deal with the dark witch Mesta she still didn't trust the woman at all. Mesta wanted revenge on Atem for the death of her family and had almost had it a month ago when she'd tricked Pheonix into wearing the Dark Light Pendent. Pheonix had scowled herself for a week straight for that mishap but in order to survive and keep Yugi safe she'd grabbed Measta and gotten a crash course on the woman's past; present and a bit of her future. In the end to keep her from killing Yugi and Atem she'd made a deal. One that had not only given Mesta the location of her hated father but Pheonix promise that once Atem and Yugi were separate she would not stop Mesta from killing Atem. She groaned, she hated herself for that, Atem had become a friend and was a mentor/friend and brother to Yugi, But Yugi was her reputably, her family had guarded his for milliohm waiting for the right one to be born so that could restore balance to the shadows and Yugi was Atem's descendent she'd protect his blood line that was her job. She blushed they had started dating several months ago and when she'd told her mother she'd been terrified of the response but had only gotten a shrug, appeal up till now that guardian had always been of the same sex as the one they were protecting so this was a new thing all together and Mrs. Light believed fate had interned at this point, not that she'd tell her daughter.

      Pheonix arrived at school and made it up to her class room and seat just as the bell rang. She groaned and laid her head in her arms on the desk. She looked around; Yugi and Joey were talking two rows in front of her to her relief Yugi looked normal from where she was. *See it was just a vision or nightmare more so.* she thought and looked over to see Meranda, Mesta's host staring at Yugi. (Not unusually) but this wasn't the normal stare it was one of confusion and usurpation and it wasn't Meranda it was Mesta trying to impersonate her host for the day. *Oh great, either she's done something or something very wrong is going to happen and last night wasn't a dream………. Great I was hoping it was." She groaned and sat up as the teacher came in, she'd have to find out a lunch.

    At lunch time, Yugi had disappeared and the gang didn't know where he was, so Pheonix did the thing to avoid but couldn't she go in search of Mesta. Who wasn't too had to find in the back alley with none other than Bakura?

       "What do you want guardian??" Mesta growled a warning note in her voice telling Pheonix not to come closer. Her staff had appeared the moment she'd sensed the light witch coming.

     Pheonix held out her hands to prove she'd come unarmed, (not the best chose) but she wanted answers. "Mesta this morning I saw she staring at Yugi and not in your normal I'm going to kill him why. You can sense something's' up something's wrong. I need to know what." She said holding eye contact with the dark witch."

       Mesta groaned, the little guardian had some nerve being so bold with her but, the girl was right, but she'd toy with the girl some. She needs information too, there had been magic on the boy one she had felt before but couldn't place. "And what makes you think there's anything wrong with your precious Yugi? You to have a lover's battle?" she laughed and louder when Pheonix blushed

      "No you …….." Pheonix groaned trying to keep her temper. "No, something happened last night." She blushed darker. "I thought I was dreaming but I wasn't Yugi was in my room and his eyes were red……….. And he had claws." She said and showed Mesta the marks on her shoulder.

        Bakura who had been laughing and listening stopped and looked at Mesta, she'd mentioned something about a new dark magic being in town as of when the storm began brewing again. "So you were right." He said and earned a glare for it

       Pheonix groaned, so it was neither of them and she didn't sense Marik in town, WHO THE BLOODY HELL WAS IT THEN????" She left as they argue not wanting to get in the middle of their fight that turned fascicle more often than not.

     Pheonix sighed, on her why back to the class room to get her lunch she had the feeling someone was following her, but when she turned around to see who it was no one was there. Getting her lunch she decided to eat on the roof, when she reached the roof she found it empty which was usual, lots of people came up here at lunch to eat. It had the best view and was calmer then the lunchroom or classrooms. She sighed something must being going on that she didn't know about. She just waited a little quiet to think on what was going on.

        Pheonix was enjoying her soup she'd packed when she felt a chill in the air, and that was odd the day was night 80 and she looked up as a cloud rolled over the sun.  There had been few big clouds in the sky when she had arrived up on the roof and she felt that same strange magic again. She stood to look around but the next moment found her pinned to the fence that encircled the roof. She gasped finding Yugi there. "Yugi?" she squeaked out seeing it was the same one from last night, red eyes and all. Aye this was terrifying.

     "You shouldn't be alone, my guardian, you might get hurt." He said holding her in place, Pheonix now fully awake knew very well this was Yugi but something was wrong, one the puzzle was paler then it normally was, two the red eyes were a given and three his shadow powers were rolling off of him in waves.

      "Umm." Pheonix began but stopped when he ran his hand over the place where his nails had bitten into her the night before, "Sorry about that, I'm still getting use to these." He said as his nails changed to claws then back. Pheonix stayed as calm as she could, She couldn't figure out what had happened……………………….. Unless……………………….. Unless someone had been very stupid and awoken Yugi's true shadow powers before he was ready.

       "Yugi, what happened……….. Why is your magic spilling out?" she asked wishing the cloud would pass the sun already, the sun's rays would counteract the shadows for the time, she ready didn't want to hurt Yugi, she was forbidden too.

      Yugi tilled his head, "What do you mean?" he asked then chuckled, "Oh this, I don't know it started yesterday after you left. I had to come over and show you." He leaned closer and rested his head on her shoulder, as the cloud final passed the sun, Pheonix felt his powers retreat and he relaxed into her. A moment later he hoped his eyes and looked up at her. They were his normal light amethyst and he was surprised. "Pheonix????" he asked, clearly confused about what was going on. He looked down seeing how they were positioned and blushed deeper as he jumped back, "What??? What just happened?"

       Pheonix wished she could tell him she had no clue herself. She pushed herself from the fence to talk to him when her vision went black and Yugi had to catch her, she'd been exposed too much of his shadow magic at one time, and it had fought her Light magic it was draining. Yugi was too confused and worried about Pheonix to sense the man on the other side of the roof who chuckled, he'd been watching. It was time to test the heir to the Shadows and his little guard and get some fun of pissing off the other dark spirits in this city. He disappeared as the boy carried the girl off the roof, impressed that the boy could carry her with how small he was.
