Kept mine anew.
I had seen pictures,
Videos,
Stories of things you had done.
You were an inspiration to me little one.
I never got to know you,
Or even say hello,
But I loved you little one.
I couldn't stop crying when I heard the news.
I could no longer see you,
I wouldn't even get to say good bye.
That night I had a dream.
It seems strange now,
But no less true.
I dreamed of heaven.
Of a world resting on fluffy clouds,
Everything so beautiful and new.
Then I heard laughter,
I turned around and saw you.
You were playing with some children
About the same age as you.
You were playing some games
Like tag, and hide and seek, and hop scotch.
I stood there watching you,
Knowing I would have to leave soon.
Right as I was about to leave
I received the best gift of all.
I got the biggest smile from you.
When I woke up I realized that everything would be all right.
You are looking over us little one,
You are our guiding light.
