Heyyyyyy, check it out. Art of one of Zara's school bullies, finally. I meant to draw a colored image of Sunset almost two years ago by this point, but here it is now. I drew this on August 5th
I got the overwhelming urge one day to finally draw a picture of Sunset Margherita, and figured "What better way to do that than drawing her and Zara together, in one uncomfotable and telling image?" So that's what I ended up doing. I'm very proud of how I drew her hair. Here's her original concept sketch by www.deviantart.com/gloomybearl…
I tried to keep the overall idea of the original mane, while also cleaning the design up a bit and making it concrete. And since she was never drawn with an actual tail, I just decided to wing it and design one. The green part on the back of her hair is the tail, which felt really weird to draw. But I'm really happy with how it turned out. Honestly, it was pretty intimidating to impliment a mismatched tail into a full head of human hair, but I think I did okay. Whether that green part in the back is a ponytail, or if it's down, is up for interpretation I guess, cause it looks like it could be up or down.
I'm also really happy with the way I designed her eyeshadow and clothes. The orange and sparkles just feel PERFECT to me, and it's honestly probably my favorite part of the whole image.
I also darkened and desaturated Zara's childhood clothes, as the last version of the outfit seemed too bright to me. Here's the original outfit I made: www.deviantart.com/rosewood-bl…
