"Is this... our baby?" Mimic asked, his ears folded down as he carefully approached the baby filly. He shed his pony appearance reluctantly. He didn't want to scare the little one.
"Of course. You should know me by now, Mimic. I am only loyal to you," Dark Moon laughed tiredly as she stood and walked to her husband.
"She's so... small! I mean, not as small as when I was a little grub, but she still tiny!" Mimic whispered as he looked down at the small bundle of joy. His small bundle of joy. "She's so adorable. She clearly got her cuteness from you," he continued. Dark Moon laughed.
"I think she resembles you a bit," she sighed as she used her magic to remove some of the blanket swaddle, "She has the shell, the wings, and even the little stripes on her belly. Even your red mane passed down to her a bit." She giggled and wrapped their foal once more and nuzzled the small bundle, earning a happy squeal from their daughter. "All that's left is to come up with a name. I know my mother would like for the Moon name to continue, but I don't have any idea for what else..."
"Sapphire. Her shell is like that of a sapphire that has just been unearthed," Mimic said with a smile, "Sapphire Moon. Princess Sapphire Moon."
"Yes, that's perfect. Thank you, love bug," Dark Moon giggled at the pet name as Mimic turned away with a slight blush. "Now then, we should probably rest. It's been a long day for all of us."
