First off, America's not fat. If he was chubby, to be honest I wouldn't care. He'll still be an adorable guy in my eyes. Besides he works out like a champion.
Secondly, America has a right to call himself a hero because he has that much confidence in himself. He even has the strength of a hero to match. Normally, you wouldn't see a little boy carry a buffalo like a toy, carry a Rolls Royce for AN HOUR and make aliens fly with one punch! That is true heroics right there.
