Description
PlaidConnection was a recurring idea when I first started studying in art school back in 2010. Starting that year, I thought about expressing myself through the idea of ‘nostalgia’. All my plates (that’s how we call our homework) were based on my childhood.
Unfortunately, most of my plates were not as good as they were mainly childish. Many of my professors neglected the idea even those who practiced children’s illustration as professional work I was always sad and had low self-esteem about my works, until my last final design work as a Fine Art student. The project revolved around the idea of nostalgia, and I surprisingly got the highest mark in my major subject.
I have always been a fan of cartoon characters and children’s book illustrations especially E.H Shepard and those who nourished my curiosity about illustration- Pixar, Cow and Chicken, Pokemon, and Digimon. And through this blog, I hope I could share my progress with all of you as an aspiring children’s book author.
