Well, I for one would love to see most "social programs" cancelled and bring back the WPA of the "New Deal." Then, we would have the labor pool to do flood control, hydroelectric power, and infrastructure improvement, especially our railways. (After all, Amtrak IS owned by the government.)
The nation would be much more green, and be energy independent. It makes it win-win. But, Republicans would complain about "expanding government," and Democrats would complain about "forcing employment."
As someone who swore an oath to the Constitution (many times), I read it. No where in it is ANY allowance for political parties. Also Washington himself warned against forming them in his Farewell Address.
The problem isn't Republican OR Democrat. The problem is Republican AND Democrat. An elected member of either serves their party, not solely their constituents, in violation of their responsibilities under the Constitution.
