I got super inspired to finish it today, and I finally did
Been a long time since I polished an animation to this degree. Guess Bowsette is just that inspiring.
I noticed nobody actually fanarts the transformation itself, but I think it's a fun part of the whole deal. And it sure was, but I skipped lunch today to finish it, so now it's time for a big dinner xD

It's because Peach has blonde hair, and crown should turn Bowser into Peach, I guess.

Nothing died,
Every new thing on deviant art takes off like a rocket its first few days then slows down as everyone who could draw it has already.
Add that its not really official and it won't keep up that same momentum. Besides there is still the Bowsette cosplay contest in Japan later this month.
Can't expect new content every day at the same rate. Honestly Mario fans should be happy, when was the last time anything Mario had gotten this much hype? Probably decades. I can guarantee most of you complaining about this would have only shrugged at best if anyone asked you how you felt about Mario games like even a month ago. Or looking forward to anything Mario...and what is that common complaint (they never take chances, never try anything new)...despite the fact they do; just its usually game mechanics or weird cross-overs that don't seem to get fans excited enough.
If Nintendo does anything official with their version of Bowsette it would take time, games take time to modify for DLC (thinking Smash Ultimate), or make. It has taken Nintendo over 2 years to make a console tie in for PokΓ©mon Go.

Super items tend to make the wearer more powerful, so... even if he looks like a weak female, he still has all the abilities and powers as regular Bowser (durability, fire breathing, stomping, great strength, etc).
But can now glide like peach, easily recover from falls and take an extra hit xD
And he gets the perks of the form itself, mainly not looking like a big ugly lizard. I mean, he already seems to have won as top waifu on the internet, and he has been in this form less than a month.

But crown gives an extra hitpoint in game, too, so, it would seem he is protected by it for at least a single hit of any kind, but then the crown may drop and he would revert back.

Dunno why they don't do it in professional leagues, but where i grew up, I played all sports with boys and girls all mixed together, and I am a biological female. I'm 6'1" and have a solid body.
