I got super inspired to finish it today, and I finally did
Been a long time since I polished an animation to this degree. Guess Bowsette is just that inspiring.
I noticed nobody actually fanarts the transformation itself, but I think it's a fun part of the whole deal. And it sure was, but I skipped lunch today to finish it, so now it's time for a big dinner xD

But it's still Bowser, even with the crown. He just looks like Peach xD
I can totally see him having a scheme involving wearing the crown to replace peach as the princess of the Mushroom kingdom, while he hides her somewhere.
I am usually not too full into memes, but this one just... works... on a lot of levels, and everyone can enjoy it for different reasons xD
It also helps that Bowser is potentially the most well developed character from the series (mostly thanks to the RPGs) so having him turn into a waifu makes him top tier waifu

To add to what PowerofSin said, some version of a female Bowser has existed in the fandom for ages, this Super Crown just legitimized it, plus there is the whole Monster Girl fandom these days; the fact that this Bowsette design looks similar to Tohru Dragon maid helps a lot.

That is likely why.
There is just something about transforming an imposing villain or hero for that matter into an attractive female version.
Why Sexy Jason, Freddy, and Chucky are among the more common "sexy version of" Halloween costumes.
and while a genderbending transformation is rare (American censors partially responsible) it is fairly common once a Male hero or villain gets really popular to try and make a female version; which can end up just as popular sometimes.
Superman - Supergirl
Spiderman - Spider girl, Spider Woman, Spider Qwen ect....
Wolverine - X23
Hulk - She Hulk
ect...
Heck the fact that despite being a popular concept we don't see more versions of a She Venom sticking around is odd.
and a while back there was a popular bit of art going around of a female M. Bison from Street Fighter, popular enough they made it an extra skin for Cammy.

Unfortunately, I do get where the fun comes in that. But the internet generally goes beyond them and even turning them into sexually attractive figures which can be borderline disturbing. Especially if you grew up with such chracters >.>
I'd prefer if they made an original female character rather than her being a genderbend. It sort of undermines the original character in my opinion...
A female venom would honest to goodness just freak me out a hella more than a female Bowser xD

In short, there was a trailer from Nintendo about Super Mario Bros U Deluxe and they added a new powerup called the Super Crown which can turn Toadette into Peachette (which is just princess Peach but with a Toad theme).
And then internet put the crown on Bowser, and the rest is history xD
