I took a class over the summer at my local community college, and these are my favorites of what I have made during that course.

Prompt: Cut images out of a 5" by 5" square and flip them to show an image or tell a story

My Approach: On the inside of the square, I cut out a normal household. If you look closer, you can see a boy running around the house, a woman putting up a poster, a fish bowl, a window, a girl playing with her cat, and a man hammering a nail. However, if you look on the outside of the square, you see multiple instances of domestic violence. If you look closer, you can see a man hitting a woman, a boy fishing a goldfish out of a goldfish bowl, a girl looking at her dead cat under a table, and a broken window. This piece is to remind everyone that things are not always as they might seem.

Materials: black construction paper, white construction paper, glue stick, ruler
