PERSONALITY:
Lan tries to carry herself with a air of elegance and amiability, the keyword being tries. Truth of the matter is she holds herself up to some pretty intense standards, probably even more intense than the modern demon hegemony, and she’ll buckle under stress easily because of it. When overwhelmed, an otherwise composed demon tends to grow catty and cocky and just overall more abrasive.
She’s a go-getter oft prone to stepping up to challenges, whether they be hers to take or not. Despite this attitude and how she carries herself she isn’t particularly fond of demon moral codes, and is even often resentful of them, but isn’t keen on giving this information out.
When in a good mood, she’s also somewhat of a flirt, though not in a super overt way--after all that’s not how demons conduct themselves, right? Likes throwing around double entendres.

BIO
Lanière was born sometime in the 19th century to house [REDACTED] a demon family with some sort of notoriety, however that notoriety was a mixed bag, given they were mostly concubi (As we all know, marriage and things of the sort). While Lanière's extended family was quite good to her, she would have to face the world outside, and even if it wasn't Victorian England, the long 19th was a lot of pressure on a young succubus. Enough to the point there was a fair amount of tension between her and her family as she kept trying to become a more "model" demon--she wanted to do it in a way that didn't require her to lose her clothes and bear all back then. Being that close with men, constantly, was unappealing. She'd rather deal with the expectations in more valiant, action-packed ways...even if the sword was falling out of fashion.
As she first began ranking up demon heirarchy, while there was plenty of opportunity to with the political climate in France at the time, she would often skimp on eating, as she saw it uncouth. Lanière was a very frail demon in her early independent life because of it, and it made being a fighter all the more difficult. She thankfully had connections to help her find meals in times of desperation, but she was embarassed by this practice enough she couldn't bring herself to do more than keep her from dying.
In desperate attempts to make something respectable out of herself, she would take chances to go abroad and maybe have luck in a different part of her current sector, or even a new one--she didn't care. The first few moves were rough, as she was still frail, and she was...sadly still not as able to integrate into the situations she imagined herself in. She'd remain travelling through Europe, travel to places without the medical infrastructure she was used to deemed too ineffective for merit by her superiors.
Being moved around had its perks, however. Her name didn't follow her as easily, in an age where information still trickled slowly across oceans and borders. And with this degree of anonymity, she was able to relax and try to actually eat properly. She still held herself to high standards, but she was able to relax a little and get some strength back. She would keep travelling around, surveilling human crime organizations. How she got involved with it was pure chance really, she simply volunteered and the opportunity arose.
Due to complications in the 1920's she's been laying low, only recently now using parts of her given name. Somewhere along the line she ended up connecting with Chapeau, ending up in Daten upon her request for assistance with events coordination.

Not particularly keen on long-term romance but she also isn’t un-fond of romance? As much as she realizes modern times are better in a lot of ways she’s very nostalgic of the practices surrounding romance she grew up with. If the right lover wants to date her and doesn’t mind being open or doesn’t want anything permanent, so be it.
