Description

Basic info for my original species, skadiddles! they are open so anybody is allowed to make one!

Text for readability:

-GENERAL: Whats a skadiddle? Simple! Creatures originally created in 2019 by Puppetkin, inspired by opossums, bats, and even furbies! Skadiddles were created with well... Creativity in mind! This sheet is just basic info for anybody curious about them. However, this is not a solid guide for what is and isn't allowed! Do you think your skadiddle should have wings? Horns? Two tails?! Go right on ahead and have fun! Skadiddles are an open species, meaning everybody is allowed to make one!

-SOCIALIZATION: Skadiddles love making friends. While they tend to live in rural communities with other skadiddles, many venture out into other cities and towns to meet lots of other animals! Skadidle communities are usually built around trees and high-up buildings, so climbing or flight is usually needed to access them. Skadiddles who are especially close will live together with other families in one huge house together!

-APPEARANCE: Skadiddles are creatures with a great range in appearance. These guys come in literally every color of the rainbow! Notably, they tend to have shorter fur with a more contrasted color from the rest of their bodies on their face, giving a "mask" appearance. Usually this color covers about 50% of their faces, but more or less coverage isn't too uncommon. Fur length, texture, and style varies from skadiddle to skadiddle. Their paws, tails, and feet also tend to have little to no fur, much like a rodent! They range from 4-7ft tall on average.

Ears are long and straight, but sometimes have a minor "flopped" appearance at the tops. Inside their ear isn't a long wisp of fur, but a part of the ear itself, like a bat! They have excellent hearing.

Paws and feet both have 5 toes, with the foot lacking a claw on the thumb. This shape is great for climbing, something that skadiddles love to do! With a powerful prehensile tail as well, nothing is unclimbable to these guys. Fur coverage on arms vary, from just the fingertips, to the hand, to the entire forearm. There isn't much more than fuzz on their limbs!

Tails are extremely dexterous. However, due to genetics, they can range in length from short, average, to long. Short tails tend to be a lot less helpful in rural areas. Meanwhile, long tails are great for climbing, until you're tripping over them constantly...

-BEHAVIOR: While skadiddles have a broad range in personality just like anybody else, they generally tend to be pretty relaxed and can get along with just about anybody. However, when in extreme shock or surprise, they tend to "statue" or "freeze." Which sounds exactly like what it is! Their whole bodies lock up into whatever pose they were holding prior. Some skadiddles are so good at hiding their surprise, you can't tell the difference until you accidentally knock them over! Don't worry, this frozen state only lasts for a few minutes at most and they'll be back to their regular selves before you know it.

-DIET: Skadiddles have a very ranged diet. In fact, they'll eat just about anything! Many rural skadiddles take up farming and foraging for most of their food, but more city-dwelling ones tend to make what most would consider... "Literal garbage." Instant ramen icecream sundae sound good to anyone else?
