Umi is a kindhearted individual that is just smart enough to not let himself be fooled by false kindness. He's surprisingly smart both when it comes to the world around him and the behaviors of others. Sometimes it almost is like he's reading someone's mind with how well he can read body language and find out the true intentions of others through it. He puts himself at a high standard, finding any fault in himself to be grand enough to be ashamed of- even if it's something that, in other situations, would be a positive.

One of these 'faults' of his includes his aggressiveness when it comes to the defense of others and himself. He seems to not be able to process any potential ethical implications when he's focused on making sure others are safe from harm- a great trait to have when it comes to someone in the hunter's guild. but still troublesome in his own mind nonetheless. He is however able to handle himself when there isn't any direct danger, instead partaking in lots of thought before taking any steps. He's a jack of all trades in a sense, but humble enough to not say that- in fact, he doesn't like to say he's talented at anything at all, despite the fact that is extremely untrue.

History
Umi was born and raised in Dula Dula, and has had a connection with the Hunter's guild for as long as he can remember. Both of his parents were part of the hunter's guild and often tried to teach Umi methods to protect himself and others. He took well to the lessons, but still wanted to see if other guilds were right for him before he became fully connected to the guild of his parents. Despite his efforts to partake in tasks of the other two guilds, nothing clicked with him as well as the hunter's guild did- which was surprising to himself due to the behaviors that he frequented. Most of the hunters that he knew were more aggressive and gruff and didn't care too much about others that weren't close to them- but he cared a lot about everybody. Some said that he was an archaeologist in a hunter's body- and he supposed that was right to a certain extent.

Despite this, the archaeologist's guild was too uninteresting to Umi. Sure, some of the physical work did well for him, but he wasn't exactly bright enough when it came to identifying the artifacts that would come up. If he knew what point of history they were from already, then sure- he would be able to take it from there, but most of the time, the artifacts were not that easy to identify. he had met a good amount of curios that were kind to him, thinking that maybe he just needed a bit more time to understand some of the complexities of archaeology, or maybe just be pushed to go on adventures rather than identify rocks- but still, nothing clicked correctly with Umi. He felt guilty about failing those who had believed him to be a potential archaeologist, but it simply wasn't for him.

The merchant's guild was even worse to him. He didn't even have a chance to think before he was being taught about numbers and trades and how to partake in a deal. Not to mention the amount of scam artists and con men that the merchant's guild held- with or without their knowledge. He met a handsome curio by the name of Solano in the merchant's guild, but even then, it wasn't enough for him to stay in that kind of environment- especially after Solano specifically told him to leave it, for his own mental sanity. Of course, despite him leaving, he keeps in touch with Solano on a regular basis. He may not have entirely agreed with him once he found out that Solano was one of the con men that he had feared and hated so much, but he also knew that Solano cared- he wasn't a bad guy, even if he partook in bad actions.

Outside of the small moment of exploration, Umi's life was rather straightforward. Born in the hunter's guild, raised by the hunter's guild, and partaking in the hunter's guild to this day. Due to his exploration in his teenage years, he wasn't able to partake in the guild fully until recently. It was a little embarrassing for his parents, but they still cared for him just as much as they always had- and are still encouraging him in his hunting guild antics today.
