Description While we continued driving, to wherever we were headed, I noticed the scenery started to change. It went from a snowy day to a dreary fall day. There were colored leaves blowing around the car. Everything was black and burnt.  All the houses had a black “X” with a red circle around it. The neighborhood itself was similar to a ghost town. “Pointer” I began “Where are we?”
Pointer looked at me with sorry eyes before he turned around to face the opposite window. “We… we’re somewhere else” he said.
“Well that doesn’t help at all.” I replied, annoyed.
“Ask Phoenix lass”
“Fine, Phoenix, where are we?”
Phoenix winced. “We’re not exactly in your world anymore Michelle.”
My breath quickened. “Wh-what do you mean?” I was ignored. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE’RE NOT IN MY WORLD!” I screamed. Phoenix, Pointer and Cooper turned around and gave very loud “Shhs” in unison. I received a large amount of spit in my face.
“Michelle, you must be quiet” Cooper said in his demanding tone. “If you’re not the refugees will come and beg for shelter and food. Since you’re not like them they will grab you first and possibly try to—“ His voice trailed off as he saw my eyes well with tears. I tried to hold them back, unsuccessfully.
“Aw Coop…”whined Pointer, “why do you always have to do that?” I turned into Pointers shoulder and quietly sobbed.
While sobbing, I felt a pang of realization hit me. “Phoenix, why will the refugees want me and not you or Cooper or Pointer?”
Pointer answered for him. “Because you’re different”
“How?”
“Well, for starters. We dress differently, we smell differently. We have markings, and you don't."
“Markings?”
“My! For a small lass, you do ask a lot of questions!”
“Pointer!”
“Just wait, you’ll see.”
