Description
Sometimes in the dark, black nightAn owl call out a "Hoot!"
And flies towards the tiny mouse
Who's clinging to a root.
But the owl pulls it away
And carries it towards it's nest.
The owl consumes the furry mouse
And lays it's head in rest.
During the day a cardinal cries,
Stirring the morning dew.
In response the owl cries out,
"Leave me alone won't you!"
Then the owl returns to sleep
And sleeps until the night,
Until the sky had faded to black,
Until the end of light.
Then again the hungry owl
Sends out its mournful cry.
So that its senses will tell it just
Which mouse is next to die.
