A while back I drew a scene of an elf watching a camp. It finally occurred to me that the weirdness I kept seeing in it was due to the way I ignored perspective when drawing it. I thought perhaps bringing the view much lower might help with that since it'd be a viewing angle I'm more familiar with. Also it might help the composition since the hidden watcher would be less hidden from anyone looking at the image.

I did this to try and work out the posture one might use when peeking around a tree. I think it works, just he seems very casual about it. I'm not sure how to show that he's crouching in the shadows trying not to be spotted.
