Built sometime after the Mk. II Conquest Class; the Territory Subclass was the next step forward. The Territory Subclass, also known as the Mark 2.75 Conquest Class was even more powerful than it's original Mk. II basis, but were brutes because of the increase in it's shields and armour, it also bolstered a more advanced Photon Torpedoe launcher, capable of firing 6 torpedoes in a span of 4 seconds. The GSS Empress, GOC-1772 became a Territory Subclass Conquest after it's brutal kicking done by the FSS Agincourt, NCC-3321; but she would be outdone by her sistership the GSS Emperor a year later.
