In the winter following the sickness and the harrowing family separation, a rift had begun to grow between father and son. But what could fix that better than a hunting trip? And so they take to the valley west of the Ithunnwood. Mar hadn't learned gullshit from his father, but that didn't mean he couldn't try to teach Rictus the ways of being a provider, and a protector... and the soft-pawed young he-wolf is sobered by the violence, and his first act of taking a life.
