As Americans, we tend to gloss over parts of history we deem unimportant to our society. Despite the Vietnam War producing a massive wave of patriotism and support for veterans, we forget that there were others that fought alongside us in that conflict. Although notable examples like South Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines contributing a massive amount of soldiers and equipment, the ones that I want to focus on are the ANZACs. I found out about their involvement through the famous song by the band Redgum, I was only 19, which changed my perception on how the war had been fought. Then I saw the movie Danger Close in theaters with my dad and that solidified my opinion that the school system skims over an important part to certain events we get involved in. I don't know how many Aussies and Kiwis view my art, but this one goes out to the soldiers who fought and died alongside us Yanks in that God forsaken war. Lest we forget about their sacrifice for the defense of democracy in the face of tyranny. Have a nice ANZAC Day, Rageful out.
