Well, I'll test the theory myst whenever my Froakie evolves from the second form(Wonder trading FTW). I love me some fire types though.

Hm. Squirtle broke the Gen-1 Gym Leader progression, and I've evaluated that the Fire-type starter is best for most other generations. Grass-types are just too fragile.

I didn't want a Fire-Fighting type 3 times in a row, and my sister already chose Oshawott, so I went with the Grass-type. Though, I agree that they are very fragile.
