Hello everyone!! UvU I've always enjoyed participating in contests because the creative characters, the innovative prompts, and the medley of different prizes always posed to be great incentives to get my juices flowing for new pieces ^_^ I hope this contest is able to do the same for others!! It would make me happy to see a lot of people participating :")

Prompt

There are two prompts to choose from!

1. Draw a self portrait.
I'm not looking for a realistic, painted bust. Be as creative as you can! It could be a single symbolic scenery w/ various elements, or a collage of various parts of your personalities, or anything you can think of really. Go for it///
2. Incorporate two of the themes: rhythm, label, wind, press, and bow.
Each word can be interpreted as you like. For example, press could be referring to the media, the physically pushing of an object, or the non-concrete act of pushing on and persevering. Just a few ideas to get you started!

Deadline: 9/15/2014, 11:59pm PST Submission • mention in your description the following: the prompt you chose (clearly stated), a description (however long, in-depth, or vague you wish it to be), and a link back to this journal

Rules • the submission must be created for this contest only
• visual art only (ie digital/traditional); feel free to ask or clarify!
• the work must be entirely your own. references for anatomy/etc may be acceptable, but they must be credited. fanart is okay!
• multiple entries are accepted, but you are only eligible to receive one prize
Judging • I will be the only judge (aside from whomever I choose to consult in private)
• Submissions will be judged on completion/effort (b&w and sketches could be deemed complete but I would be considering the effort as well), creativity (if you choose prompt #2 and have a vague description so individuals can derive their own interpretations, I may ask you to clarify if I do not see the prompts incorporated), and impact

Prizes

There will be two winners, one from each category. From the two, the grand prize winner will be selected, and the other will be the runner up. Aside from the two main prizes, three other bonus awards will be given, with criteria that will remain a mystery until the winners are announced ^Q^ SO FIVE WINNERS TOTAL
