Description
I had no clue where I would be going with this, I just wanted something with color gradients, so I drew a couple of thick color stripes on a vertical canvas and gaussian blurred it.
Then I tried to add a pegasus on their back being gently carried by the breeze, but after a couple of tries all I liked was the wing. The wing looked more suited for a huge bird, so I attempted to go in a more eagle direction with this, but the head wouldn't look the way I wanted it to and I griffin didn't quite work out either, so after adding and taking lines I ended up with a more more spiritual being that had no need for a definite physical form.
It appeared to fit the light-hearted mood I was going for and since the drawing had been more emotion-driven than technical to begin with I kept it this way. It would have looked alright vertically as well, but a rising motion looked too powerful for what I wanted to portray, so I tilted it 90 degrees for a more soaring motion.
