So I faked a smile as I lied through my teeth
"You're right."
You may have fooled them
but you can't fool me.
Because I saw the flash in your eyes
like lightning in a dark blue sky
And I heard your words
thrown at him like thunder
And I saw you remember me,
covering up your lightning with bright sunshine,
your thunder with gentle music
while you silently hoped I didn't notice
And I knew I had won.
But you had already won your side of the game
a long time ago.
