I wasn't sure what to put this under - Waterscapes, Geology, or Flowers & Plants, as is combines all 3 elements. But in this case, the plants are the most prominent feature, so plants won. This photo was taken at Halibut Point State Park, where I spotted some very lovely purple loosetrife sticking up from between the hulking masses of stone. The problem was that it was darned near inaccessable, which meant I had to do some tricky (and stupidly risky) maneuvering to get this angle for the photo. So worth it though - I love the bright splash of color the flowers add to the mellow, earth-toned quarry.
