Esenem is the other female plakat I adopted while visiting upstate. She is a beautiful, unique girl; her base color is chocolate, but she has fantastic copper overtones. Time will only tell what her ultimate coloration will be, but she is one beautiful fish! It is surprising, then, that she didn't sell at auction for a price as low as $2! She has a strange kink in her anal fin that prevents her from being used as breeding stock, but you can't even get an old, standard colored VT at most pet stores for such a lovely price. I was more than happy to take her, as chocolate and copper are my two favorite colors on bettas, and plakats are my favorite tail type! Besides, how would one say no to that pretty face?
