I'm not certain I've chosen the right category, honestly. The statue is the focus of the photo, but the setting is the naturalistic surroundings of the tree, moss, and rocks. Interpret it as you'd please.
That said, this photo was actually taken in my room; it is of a bonsai tree. However, when taken this close, scale is distorted, and it almost seems as though it could be a real statue under a full-sized tree. Until, of course, you notice minor details like the moss and pebble substrate.
I wanted to get a picture using just natural lighting, no flash. When the sun comes through the bonsai tree's boughs, it gives the statue a very lovely golden hue, so I elected to take the shot at around 2:00, when the sun's angle is just right. I think perhaps it gave the background too white of an appearence, but I was able to achieve the look I wanted for the statue and moss.
