This tree impressed me for some reason. I think it is because it is half dead, yet is covered with fresh spring foliage. It was at the Custer Battlefield, and seemed like a symbol of everything I felt there; all around me was death, yet I couldn't help but feel the vibrant living pull of nature as birds sang in rolling expanses of grass. It was a very impressive site; anyone who enjoys history should try to get out there.
