Description
My interpretation of Microraptor mui and Amarantoraphidia ventolina, based on some fossils and previous reconstructions.
This is my second paleoart piece. The first one, “Aves” was created in May 2019, but my technique used in it is quite outdated, so I probably won’t upload it on my main gallery. I had a lot of fun researching for this painting, and the painting process itself was enjoyable as well. I especially liked creating the iridescence of the feathers and the background (especially A. ventolina! Such a little guy). I tried a new technique of using an earth-toned underpainting as a base, and I think it really helped to unify the painting.
I hope you all enjoy the finished work as much as I enjoyed making it.
As always, made in Krita.

The lighting is really good on this, and I really like the particles here in particular. I see people overdo it a lot but it looks just right here. Great stuff
