Etymology: louse and snip. (ENG) Pediculus, the genus that sucking lice are in, and clip. (JP)
Origin: a head louse. The fact that it cleans it host references a common myth where head lice are attracted to dirty hair. Several elements of it's design hint at a hair cutting theme. It's mandibles look like scissors, while it's antennae resemble a pair of clippers. The gray fluff on it's body is based on lint.

*Parasite - Switches it's Normal type out for a type that matches it's opponent after hitting them with a move that makes contact.
